2025 Turkish Airlines Open: Prize Money Breakdown & Winner’s Payout

The 2025 Turkish Airlines Open, back on the DP World Tour calendar, teed off at the stunning Regnum Carya Golf Resort and Spa on May 8 after six long years! The excitement is palpable as this thrilling event returns for its 8th edition. However, the tournament began with some concerning news from one of the stars, Corey Shaun. The golfer, already fatigued after several setbacks at the Joburg Open, encountered a nightmare when he had to chase street dogs on his way to his Airbnb at 1 AM ahead of the event. Despite that worrying incident, the atmosphere at the event is electric, thanks to the plethora of perks it offers its players!

The prize pool for the 2025 Turkish Airlines Open is $2.75 million. From a field of 70 players, the champion will receive $467,500, which represents the typical 17% payout outlined in the European Tour’s prize money distribution guidelines. The golfer who finishes in second place will earn $302,500 (11.00%) of the total purse, while the third-place finisher will take home $172,150 (6.26%). Overall, the top five finishers will each make over $100,000. The 64th-place finisher will earn $6,875, followed by the 65th-place golfer, who will receive $6,600. Besides the cash prizes, there are, in fact, important rewards and benefits for the players, especially for the tournament winner. For instance, the winner will get about 19.5 Official World Golf Ranking points, based on how strong the competition is. Moreover, winning also offers big advantages, such as a two-plus season exemption on the European Tour and spots in other important events. In addition, all players can earn a total of 3,500 Race to Dubai points.

As a result, the champion will gain 585 DP World Tour points, and the player with the most Race to Dubai points at the end of the season will win the Race to Dubai and its top prize. Finally, the top eight players in the Race to Dubai standings at the end of the season will divide a $6 million bonus pool. With so much on the line, the competition at the ongoing 2025 Turkish Airlines Open is looking just as tough!

Robinson Thompson geared for take-off at Turkish Airlines Open

After the third round, Robinson Thompson, who scored a beautiful 62 in that round, said, “I’ve just got notified of that [the course record] and I’m a bit bummed I didn’t break it.” Thompson wasn’t very far off from that, in fact. In 2016, Thorbjorn Olesen recorded a score of 62 at the Carya Golf Club. Similarly, in 2018, Thomas Pieters matched this impressive score of 62, thereby equaling the course record. Maybe Thompson will get another chance at that in the following season. However, the English golfer is currently at the top of the leaderboard with a score of -14.

Robinson Thompson currently leads the tournament with a score of -14, but he faces strong competition closely following him. Jorge Campillo, Haotong Li, and Robin Williams all sit tied at -11, just three strokes behind Thompson. Williams, however, may prove to be tough competition for Thompson.

Currently caddied by his father, Williams faces a unique challenge heading into the final round of the event: “My dad mentioned on the flight over here about how Robert MacIntyre won with his father on the bag at the RBC Canadian Open, but I told him that we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves,” said Williams after the third round. In 2024, caddied by his father, Robert MacIntyre, won his first PGA Tour title at the RBC Canadian Open. So far, Williams has scored 65-70-67 at the 2025 Turkish Airlines Open. Will the father-son duo get better in the final round? Well, we hope so!

Lastly, Matthew Jordan, Jordan Smith, Mikael Lindberg, and Martin Couvrain closely follow the top four golfers, each sitting at -10, just four strokes behind the leader. Who do you think will take home the substantial $467,500?
