2025 Volvo China Open: Prize Money Breakdown & Winner’s Payout

The Europeans are invading China! No, there is no war going on across the continent. Instead, the best in the DP World Tour are in the Asian country for their next challenge. It’s the 2025 Volvo China Open, where the biggest stars from Europe are fighting it out until April 20, 2025, for title glory. However, winning the coveted event on the Asian leg of the European Tour is not their only goal this weekend.

The tournament also comes with a great paycheck that everyone playing it would be eager to win. From Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra and Haotong Li to Tapio Pulkkanen, let’s see what the top golfers on the leaderboard are set to earn for every position they are placed in.

2025 Volvo China Open prize money breakdown

The Enhance Anting Golf Club is quite a challenging course. After two days of action, all three leaders, Chacarra, Li, and Pulkkanen, have managed to score 10-under par 132 to take the first spot. However, the remaining field is 2 strokes away from them. Overall, the field was cut to 72 players, all of whom have managed at least 2-over or less after 18 holes. However, everyone who has qualified for the weekend rounds will be eligible to receive a cut from the $2.55 million event on April 20, 2025.

Yes, the prize money is $2.55 million, which is $300,000 more than what it was last year. Last year’s winner, the Spanish swinger Adrián Otaegui, managed to bank $382,500. This year, the winning champion will get a paycheck of $433,500. The 70th-ranked golfer will grab $4,845. Everyone in the top 5 will earn more than $100,000.

Interestingly, now representing the UAE, Otaegui has also cut, and he is sitting at T14 after two rounds. Let’s check the complete list of the prize money, according to Golf Digest.

But the paychecks will still be quite similar to the ones shown here. Having said that, apart from those tied at first, who else can win the tournament? Let’s take a glance at the leaderboard of the tournament.

Top bets to win the 2025 Volvo China Open

Just out of the players tied in first place after two rounds, Haotong Li is the favorite to win the 2025 Volvo China Open. That is because he had previously won the tournament back in 2016. Interestingly, he did so by beating LIV Golf pros Tyrrell Hatton, Dean Burmester, and Peter Uihlein. Defending champion Adrián Otaegui is also a great contender. But it would be quite challenging for him to cover the 6-stroke deficit and retain the title by Sunday.

Jannik De Bruyn is also sitting just two strokes away from the first-place tie. He, too, can rise through the rankings in the back 36 to capture the title. The highest-ranked player on the OWGR, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, is also only a few strokes away. Having already come from a runner-up finish at the 2025 Puerto Rico Open on the PGA Tour, he will be longing to finally get his first win as a professional golfer.
