Well, well, well, it seems like Jamahal Hill has finally shown some humility following his loss to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311. That Alex Pereira saga was difficult to sit through. Getting knocked out clean, then blaming his opponent for the loss, then issuing a challenge to ‘Poatan’ in the UFC PI and walking away, the MMA community started using his name and the word ‘delusional’ in the same sentence. So it was quite surprising (and refreshing), to see ‘Sweet Dreams’ give his last opponents props for beating him at January’s PPV event in Inglewood, California.
After a hard-fought battle, Jiri Prochazka knocked out Jamahal Hill in the third round to cement his status as the next light-heavyweight contender. The defeat was an eye-opener for Hill as according to him, he needed the loss. While having a conversation on his YouTube handle, Jamahal Hill ascertained that Jiri Prochazka was a better man that night, “Obviously, the fight didn’t go the way that I wanted it to. Got to give a shout-out to Jiri—he made great adjustments, he looked really good. [He] brought in some new elements to his game that were good to see,” said Jamahal Hill.
Expressing gratitude towards his friends and family, Hill thanked them, acknowledging those who reached out to share how much they enjoyed the fight. ‘Sweet Dreams’ emphasized that for him the ultimate goal goes beyond winning or dominating—it’s delivering an action-packed performance for his audience.

In the end, Jamahal Hill thanked Jiri Prochakza for being his opponent, “[As for my] thoughts on the fight—he was a good opponent. I haven’t really been able to be in the fights as much as I want to over the last couple of years since I won the title due to injury and things like that.” This lack of animosity from Hill is quite refreshing, given how salty he was towards Alex Pereira. In fact, Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill shared a drink after the fight. And now that month has passed since that loss, what’s next for the former champion? Let’s find out.
What’s next for Jamahal Hill after UFC 311 loss against Jiri Prochakza?
A title fight is out of the question now for the former light-heavyweight champion because after Magomed Ankalaev, the next title contender would be Jiri Prochazka. So, what’s next for the former champ? With a career record of 12 victories and only 3 defeats, Jamahal Hill cannot be ruled out of the division yet.
The UFC has yet to announce any plans for ‘Sweet Dreams.’ It is worth noting that he was originally scheduled to face Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 303. However, due to ‘War Horse’s’ PED usage and an injury, Rountree was ruled out, and the fight never took place. Given that both Hill and Rountree are currently on losing streaks, the UFC could consider rebooking the match.
Other than that fight, the UFC can book a fight between Alexander Rakic and Jamahal Hill as both are action-packed fighters in dire need of a victory.
