This means it’s likely the salary cap issue which might be a problem this time. In addition, the Eagles have a younger group of corners waiting in the wings—Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Isaiah Rodgers, Kelee Ringo, and Eli Ricks.
Darius Slay carries a $13.7 million cap hit in 2025, and if the Eagles release him after June 1, they’d save $4.3 million while taking a $9.4 million dead cap hit.
