After $60M Investment, Josh Allen & Sean McDermott Shown Road to Super Bowl by Freshly Retired Bills Veteran

It was heartbreaking for the Bills fans when the team was just inches away from playing in the Super Bowl. Following a 13-4 regular season and a close victory over the Ravens in the Wild Card round. The Buffalo were tightly defeated by the Chiefs in the NFL Conference Championship game. It was an emotional moment for the team as they gave their all. But since then fans have been asking the same question ever since: what went wrong? While the team is fantastic, what more can they do? Well, it appears that a legend has answered it for us.

The legend in question is none other than former Bills safety Micah Hyde. He appeared on The Jim Rome Show and discussed the team’s prospective Super Bowl window. Hyde noted that, while many fans and experts believe the window is closing, this may not be the case. The former safety believes that with players like Josh Allen and coaches like Sean McDermott and Brennan Bean, anything is possible. The team only needs to fix one or two players here and there, then BOOM! They might become the next Super Bowl champs.

Micah Hyde talked more about this claiming, “So whenever you have pieces like that, that stay in the ship they’re always going to have a chance. And it’s going to come down to a player or two here and there that we realise in the last couple of years, this is what it is difficult. But that’s what is going to make this championship, you know, whenever it may be, that’s what is going to make it special.”

The Bills have not made it to the Super Bowl in nearly 30 years. Fans are still waiting for the team to win their first Big Game, but they are consistently failing to get there. The squad enjoyed an incredible run in the 1990s, reaching the Big Game four years in a row. Unfortunately, they were never able to write their names into history books by winning it.

Since then, the pieces have fallen apart repeatedly. But, can Josh Allen and Sean McDermott bring them together? Perhaps the team’s regular season in 2025 will provide the answer to that. As of today, the squad has already invested $60 million in preparation for the season. But what kind of investment are we talking about?

The Bills bound WR Khalil Shakir in a massive contract

We saw numerous stars break out in the NFL and show their abilities. And for the Bills their breakout star was Khalil Shakir. His 76 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns made him a game changer for the Buffalo. And it appears that for his performance, the WR has received a significant award from the team. And his reward came in the form of a four-year contract extension worth $60.2 million. Jeez! That’s a lot.

This extension has been widely discussed in the industry, since the Bills are taking a significant risk by signing the WR for such a high salary. Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero confirmed this news, stating that the WR will receive $32 million in guaranteed money. The extension will last until the 2029 season, thus the Bills’ WR position is fixed till then. But wait, there is more to this story. After the signing announcement, Brandon Beane, the team’s general manager, appreciated the WR and referred to him as Mr. Dependable.

Beane stated in an interview, “You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone — fans, players — anyone in our building to say anything negative about Khalil and what he’s brought. The guy is a true lunch pail Buffalonian. I mean, I know he’s not from Buffalo but he doesn’t say anything, he just shows up every day. He’s Mr. Dependable, and when the ball comes his way he usually comes down with it.”

So that’s it for the Bills for now, but what are your thoughts on them? Can the squad end its 30-year curse this season? Or do they require a few more pieces?
