The Timberwolves are high on energy after their miraculous comeback win against the Thunder on Monday. Sure enough, they aim to carry that momentum tonight as they head to the Crypto.com Arena to face the Lakers. But they are dealing with one major uncertainty. The availability of Anthony Edwards!
Well, Ant-Man has been dealing with right calf soreness for the last few days, which is why he is listed as questionable heading into tonight’s game. While head coach Chris Finch was optimistic about the forward suiting up, he remains a game-time decision. And that has left media veteran Chris Hine confused. Turns out, Edwards has entered the Lakers arena, but his late arrival makes it tricky to judge whether he will play or not.
Obviously, you can never be truly certain with Ant-Man, as Hine tweeted, “Edwards might be the hardest athlete to tell whether he’s playing or not. Remember once upon a time he was declared out by the team mid game a few years ago in Detroit and came back in anyway.” Hopefully, Finch will provide the final update soon as we head closer to tip-off.

Even during Monday’s game, Edwards’ health turned into a major concern as Finch initially subbed him out down the stretch because his calf was bothering him. But as the Wolves muscled a 25-point comeback in the final quarter, Ant-Man was put back in the game to finish the job in overtime. And he did. Despite the injury woes, he made a game-saving block on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the final seconds, and then defended him brilliantly on the Thunder star’s game-tying shot attempt. As expected, Edwards was hyped about the lockdown play, as he yelled while heading to the locker room, “Superman with the block! With a bad calf!” But the visuals were concerning.
Anthony Edwards Good to go against Lakers but Viral Tunnel video was not a good sign
Clearing the uncertainty, Edwards’ status has been upgraded to available at the last minute. So, he will suit up against LeBron James and Co. tonight. Moreover, he was even spotted getting some shots up during the pregame shootaround. As a precautionary measure, Ant-Man had a white bandage wrapped around his calf, likely to avoid the risk of reaggravating it. Of course, his availability is a major boost for the Wolves because he is clearly their best player, averaging 27.5 points and six rebounds.
However, there will surely be concerns about his health as the game progresses. Even on Monday, although Edwards got the job done, it was clear that his calf was bothering him, as he finished with only 17 points on an abysmal five of fifteen shooting. Moreover, as he headed to the locker room hyped after the win, he could be seen limping heavily as he walked through the tunnel. That’s not what the Wolves fans wanted to see.
There is a possibility of Ant-Man’s injured calf affecting his performance once again tonight. Do you think he can overcome this challenge and lead his team to another big win on the road?
