Dark Cloud Looms Over Florida Gators as Gymnastics Star Out for the Season Because of Devastating Injury

After the devastating incidents from February 21, the gymnastics fans had to wait for three more days to hear something newsworthy. Actually, on February 24, the College Gym News Editor for EAGL Conference, Alyssa Van Auker, came forward with something relevant. On that day, one of her tweets read, “Sloane Blakely has a “low leg injury”. Expect an announcement from her in the coming days.” Enough to raise the fans’ heartbeats! However, with that, she also posted, “For floor, expect Sloane Blakely’s lineup spot to go to Anya, Gabby, or Ly.” So, for Sloane, the replacement had already been in hand. All that remained was a final confirmation to complete the scene. Well, that came on exactly 7 days later.

On February 28, the X-handle of Gymnastics Now broke the news. It read, “Another hour, another Achilles injury – this time for Florida senior Sloane Blakely.” The Gator senior couldn’t thwart the impact of the fall she faced last week in the gymnastics match against No. 1 Oklahoma. However, she tried hard not to increase the impact. After her fall in the floor exercise routine, she immediately hopped off the mat and entered the locker room with a dry face. But things are here now. She is out for the rest of the college gymnastics season because of an Achilles injury.
