If the NFL had a version of Dunder Miffin, it would probably be the New York Jets. Every season since the days of Joe Namath, the Jets had the confidence of Michael Scott. However, when it’s for them to show up at a big presentation like a whole season in NFL terms, they end up embarrassing themselves. Just take a look at the Aaron Rodgers era, which only lasted 2 years. Basically, if you don’t count his first year where he got injured after playing just 4 snaps. So, with that being said, the Jets are yet again on the search for a new franchise signal-caller. Actually, the one they have been predicted to pick in this year’s draft already shows all the traits of a Jets QB. Indecisive, too confident, and probably a bust in the making.
Former Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart did something in the NFL Scouting Combine that could sink his draft stock—if it wasn’t already lower. As per the reports coming out of Indy, Dart has skipped every other drill at the Combine, leaving throwing. No broad jump, no verticals, 3 cone, and other drills used to judge a top QB prospect. Looks like Dart already has a lot of confidence in himself. He probably thinks skipping a few drills won’t affect his chances of getting picked by a top franchise.
And that top franchise in question is predicted to be the Jets. Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News predicts the Jets will pick Jaxson Dart to fill in Aaron Rodgers’ boots. “The Jets are paying closer attention to Dart as they turn the page from the short-lived Aaron Rodgers era. He has the mental makeup and physical toughness to thrive in New York, right along with his big arm and accuracy.” See, the likes of Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders dominate this year’s QB class. And the one who probably ranks the 3rd best is Jaxson Dart.

Throwing for 4,279 yards, 29 TDs and just 6 INTs are the numbers that can make any franchise drool in the prospect of signing Dart. Still, there’s a feeling that he might not turn out to be an instant starting QB. An ex-Jets scout Daniel Kelly believes Dart could be the next Gardner Minshew. The one who shows a lot of promise but fumbles to live up to his hype. Or you could say like a zombie wandering around aimlessly until someone puts them on the ground. While the Jets search for their Aaron Rodgers replacement, as per the latest rumors the 41-year-old could stay in New York. Of course not with the Gang Green instead with the G-Men as they are also searching for a QB.
Aaron Rodgers predicted to switch from green and white to the Big Blues
Remember Aaron Rodgers opening up about his love for New York, a city he never wanted to leave. “I’ve really enjoyed my time in New York. I mean obviously we haven’t had the success that we’ve all wanted to have. But you know. I’ve made some good friendships on the team. I’ve enjoyed living in Jersey..Like I don’t even know if I wanna play yet, but New York would be my first option.” Well, since expressing his desire to continue playing in the Big Apple. Rodgers found himself getting thrown out of New York.
However, he might actually receive a chance to stay where he wants to. There are rumors that the Giants are monitoring the prospect of signing Rodgers. Like surely he would be an upgrade on Daniel Jones. Under Jones’ leadership, the Giants racked up only 3 wins, two less than their cross-town rivals.
And choosing to go with Rodgers might help them use that No.3 pick on either Shedeur Sanders or Travis Hunter. Going with Sanders means Rodgers could guide Sanders until he is ready for the NFL. While picking Hunter could be a no-brainer considering his dual-threat capabilities. So, who knows, maybe the Giants could bring out the best in a veteran QB who is mulling retirement. Whether he really betrays the Jets Nation by changing loyalties in an act of revenge is another story. Probably this move won’t happen. But if it does, Rodgers would be yet again at the center of NFL news for every week until he chooses to retire.
