Floyd Mayweather Blows Twice a Boxer’s Annual Salary in $400M Flex

Floyd Mayweather’s impact on boxing is undeniable. With an undefeated record in boxing and a sharp business acumen since his retirement in 2017, his position in the world has only risen since he hung up his gloves. Growing up in a challenging, poverty-stricken family likely fueled his drive to ensure the best for his loved ones. In October, Mayweather made headlines for his massive real estate investment in upper Manhattan as part of his new real estate venture known as Vada Properties. According to TMZ Sports, he purchased over 60 buildings, totaling more than 1,000 units, for an astounding $402 million. But it’s not for personal use—Mayweather’s goal is to provide affordable housing for struggling families in the heart of New York. This signaled his move to New York to focus on his business ventures in the city.

As the year wrapped up, Mayweather surprised his grandson, Kentrell Gaulden Jr., the son of his daughter Iyanna ‘YaYa’ Mayweather and rapper NBA YoungBoy, with an extravagant Christmas gift—a $20 million building located on 6th Avenue and 47th Street in Manhattan. Fast forward to 2025, Mayweather celebrated his 48th birthday in style with a week-long celebration in Miami’s ‘Booby Trap On The River’ club. On top of that, he is also in talks to secure a 10% minority stake worth $700 million in the New York Giants. With all of this going on, it was only natural that Floyd Mayweather would find a place for himself and his family in NYC. And he did just that. Only it’s not your boring 2-bedroom NYC apartment. It’s a palatial luxury pad with a monthly rent of… wait for it… $100,000. Talk about living the high life!

Nothing less than a palace in the sky for Money Mayweather

Just hours ago, Floyd Mayweather gave fans a glimpse inside his lavish high-floor duplex at the Baccarat Hotel and Residences on 20 W. 53rd St known as ‘The Gemstone Terrace’. Through the 13-odd carousel of images and clips, Mayweather gave us an inside peek at his insanely gorgeous new house. The caption read, “My home in NYC, luxurious lifestyle!” In an exclusive report from the New York Post, it was reported that Mayweather is paying a staggering $100k per month for the five-bedroom, 4,178 square feet residence that sits atop the building’s 18th and 19th floors.

The duplex features an open chef’s kitchen, seven marble baths (five full, two half), and lots of room for entertaining, along with a 3,100-square-foot private terrace with a breathtaking view of the city, a built-in bar, and a wine fridge. “It’s a high price — a record — for a Midtown rental,” a source told New York Post.

For perspective, the money he is currently paying as monthly rent for the place is approximately double the average annual income of a professional boxer in the United States. According to Salary.com, U.S. boxers earn on average between $33,940 and $44,324 annually. So this must give you a pretty good idea of how large Money Mayweather is currently living. Good for him, right!

It begs the question: Did Mayweather do better in the ring, or has he struck gold outside of it? Either way, it seems Mayweather’s success story might have a message for anyone looking to follow in his footsteps.

Floyd Mayweather drops financial wisdom

Earlier last month, Floyd Mayweather was in the spotlight for a $400 million business move, which raised some eyebrows. A few days ago, to celebrate his massive purchase, he was on Fox Business’ “Making Money” show, where he shared golden advice for combat athletes, especially when it comes to managing their money after retirement.

During the interview, host Charles Payne expressed his frustration with modern boxing, noting how promoters often get in the way of great fights. Mayweather calmly pointed out that it’s not just the promoters at fault, but also the fighters themselves. He emphasized that fighters need to be smart with their finances, particularly once their careers are over. Floyd shared how, back in the day, he didn’t have anyone to guide him, but now, he wants to be that person for others.

Floyd Mayweather explained that young fighters should focus on investing, especially in real estate, early in their career. “You can’t make money and spend money. You gotta make money and invest money,” he said. He’s been doing exactly that, proving he’s more than just a boxer.

So what do you think of his new $100k a month house in NYC? Do you also aspire to be like Floyd Mayweather one day?
