Proud Mom Serena Williams Flexes Her ‘GMOAT’ T-shirt as She Makes a Bold Statement

After dazzling at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Serena Williams gave fans a glimpse of her real priorities—faith and family. Still in her glamorous outfit, she tucked in her eldest daughter, Olympia, and prayed with her. She shared a heartfelt caption on Instagram,“I try my best to pray everyday with them no matter the circumstances. I slay and I pray.” That’s how much family means to the 23-time Grand Slam champion. Williams has proven that she’s not just the GOAT on the court but also the GMOAT off it! At least, that’s what her T-shirt says.

Retirement hasn’t slowed the 43-year-old tennis legend down one bit. While she has taken on new roles as an entrepreneur and investor, being a mom remains her favorite job. Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, are the proud parents of two daughters. Their first child, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., was born on September 1, 2017.In August 2023, they welcomed their second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, expanding their family. And she’s embracing motherhood with the same passion she brought to tennis. The former World No.1 proudly showed off her “Greatest Mother of All Time” T-shirt in an Instagram story she posted today.

The American icon’s tennis legacy is unmatched. She won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, spent 319 weeks as World No. 1, and took home four Olympic gold medals—one in singles and three in doubles. That’s why many still call her the GOAT of women’s tennis. But now, she’s found something even more rewarding.“As a mom, I’m actually way more active than what I was during tennis,” she told People magazine. “Obviously, (with) tennis, I was playing Wimbledons and stuff. But, as a mom, I’m gone all day.”

The competitive spirit that made her a champion still shines through. “I’m really competitive about it, too,” she added. “I sign my name up whenever I can, whenever there’s a spot open.” From dominating the court to managing playdates, Serena brings the same energy to everything she does.

Serena Williams reveals how she is a ‘hands-on’ mother

Serena Williams retired in 2022, but her schedule is still packed. She has multiple business ventures, including Serena Ventures and Wyn Beauty. At the premiere of her docuseries, Inside The Arena: Serena Williams, in 2024, she opened up about how retirement hasn’t really slowed her down.

Oh! Well, I have my kids now and they’re like my biggest love, so I’m obsessed with those kids and I think I put all that intensity that I had in tennis into my children because I’m super hands-on,” she said. But it doesn’t stop there. “I have a couple of businesses between my venture company and Wyn Beauty… so putting a lot of effort and passion behind things that I’m super passionate about,” she added.

Back when she became a new mom William’s also admitted that she often felt ‘mom guilt’ whenever she was not around for her daughters. In an interview with Insider she said, “Mum guiltis real. I always feel so guilty when I’m doing something on my own,” I don’t know if my method works, but I’m very hands-on with my daughter. I’ve set really good boundaries. But then after work, I’m going right to my daughter.” And this feeling of spending quality-time with them has not changed. She’s so passionate that she even misses them when they are asleep.  Adorable right? On March 4, the ex American tennis player revealed on X, “I miss them so much when they sleep. That’s when I get really lonely. #mygirls.”

It’s been almost three years since the 23-time Grand Slam champion last played a professional match, but she doesn’t miss it. The former World No.1 has shifted her focus from Grand Slams to bedtime prayers and business meetings. And she’s thriving. The ‘Queen of Court’ once ruled the tennis world. Now, she’s conquering motherhood.
