The Minnesota Timberwolves are having a tumultuous NBA season. However, the feisty Wolves know how to bounce back. They know what it takes to hold their ground, even when it’s shaky. They could have been doing better, if not for the injuries– an eyesore for them just like for all the franchises. But that surely cannot be an excuse now that they are chasing a third win in a row. Thus, before meeting the Charlotte Hornets for a matchup on Wednesday, Coach Finch and Co. gave major updates on their injury reports.
Julius Randle‘s status for Wednesday’s clash against Charlotte hangs in the balance. Listed as questionable with a groin issue, he’s feeling the effects of a demanding workload since his return. Just a day ago, Randle logged 30 minutes against the 76ers, delivering 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and a steal. Given the strain, it’s no shock that the Minnesota Timberwolves are weighing a rest day for the forward.

On the other hand, Rudy Gobert‘s back issues continue to sideline him, ruling him out for Wednesday’s clash with the Hornets. This marks his ninth straight absence, raising concerns about his return. Injury maintenance will keep him sidelined. Meanwhile, Naz Reid and Luka Garza will take charge of the workload in the paint.
These are the major names that the Wolves would be missing or most likely miss on the court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, there is another name that is adding to Chris Finch’s worries. So, let’s find out who else is on the injured roster for Minnesota vs. the Hornets.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have another name on the injury list
The Timberwolves’ latest injury report also lists Mike Conley as out due to rest. He’ll take a well-earned break after logging 25 minutes on Tuesday night. Finch trusts his squad to handle business without him. With the playoffs looming next month, every bit of energy Conley saves now could make all the difference later.

Surprisingly, Charlotte has dominated the Anthony Edwards-LaMelo Ball matchup, holding a 5-2 edge when both play. While Minnesota is the stronger team, history suggests this won’t be a walk in the park for the Timberwolves at Spectrum Center on March 5. Although listed as questionable, Randle will play, as Chris Finch confirmed. With Conley and Gobert sidelined, expect DiVincenzo and Reid to step up and carry the load. Thus the possible starting lineup may look like this:
Donte DiVincenzo (PG)
Anthony Edwards (SG)
Jaden McDaniels (SF)
Julius Randle (PF) (DD)
Naz Reid (C)
Despite injuries piling up, the Minnesota Timberwolves remain focused on extending their win streak. With Gobert and Conley out, and Randle pushing through, the pressure falls on Edwards, DiVincenzo, and Reid to deliver. However, facing a Hornets team that has historically had their number, Minnesota can’t afford to take this matchup lightly.
