You’d think Brock Nelson would be over the moon after scoring the New York Islanders‘ stunning victory over the Winnipeg Jets. I mean, the Islanders are in the bottom half of the Metropolitan Division, while the Jets sit atop the Central Division. Yet, Nelson admitted, “there were some emotions for him,” as per Andrew Gross. That’s because Nelson’s future with the Islanders is in serious jeopardy.
Despite his dedication toward his team, the Islanders’ alternate captain is up for trade. While the 33-year-old has talked to coach Lou Lamoriello, Gross explained that Nelson had no clue what would happen in the next three days. Now, TSN’s Pierre LeBrun has come out with another update, and things are not looking good for the Islanders’ center. “Brock Nelson situation still in flux. No guarantee still that Lou Lamoriello trades him, although that seems to be developing as most likely option,” LeBrun wrote on X.

Minnesota, Winnipeg, New Jersey, Colorado, Toronto among long list of teams with interest. But there are others.
