Trevor Lawrence’s 32YO Offensive Weapon Announces Retirement as Jaguars Give Up on Christian Kirk For $10.73M

The Jacksonville Jaguars offseason just got a bit busier. Their starting center Mitch Morse, who played all 17 games last season, has just announced retirement. He took to his Instagram to pen a heart-warming retirement post on Thursday morning that was shared by the Jags official X handle. “The things I’ll remember and cherish most about my career are the relationships and bonds I created with my teammates, both on and off of the field. Nothing can replace that, and I will miss it dearly.”

Well, Morse’s retirement comes days after the Jags chose to give up on their star receiver Christian Kirk. Kirk was in the final year of his $72M contract. And removing him from the roster means the Jags have freed up $10.73M in salary cap space.
