The very next game: 17-28 down the gutter against the Gators. Jaxson Dart’s presence and decision-making have been nothing short of polarizing if you compare the Gators and the Dawgs games – it simply begs the question: With how NFL draft gurus have been saying, “Jaxson Dart, you know, just seeing him live—he had a little bit more” – Is it even true?
“When you get to those tight spots and they really have to? Gut it out. Okay, we can’t cheese them. We can’t trick them. We’re gonna have to just steadily run an offense… They couldn’t do it, um. And part of that was to the darts accuracy problem, uh, in his decision-making problem,” Charles McDonald points out. What are the moments you look for in your future quarterback? Now, why are we even digging old graves? After all, at the Combine, Dart was excellent, right? Even at Ole Miss’s 2024 conquest, he had his moments of greatness (just look at that amazing Georgia game). See, the thing is, these “small problems” (which some might call it) could end up axing a $6.9 billion NFL franchise.
A small warning for Jets
What do the men in green need the most out of their 2025 draft? A franchise quarterback. See, Aaron Glenn wouldn’t have found himself in such a pickle if their 2023 plan hadn’t been sidetracked. The Rodgers trade was partly done to fuel their Zach Wilson heir plans.
However, Wilson goes to the Broncos, and the entire thing goes down the gutter. What’s next? A 7th round pick at the Drafts. Now, this is where Dart comes in. The Athletic published a draft list by an NFL executive that pointed to Dart being the 7th pick for the Jets.
“They gotta get a quarterback, and this might be where Jaxson Dart goes,” the exec mentioned. At the core of it all, Dart is not a bad QB. There have been errors in decision-making, and you can blame that partly on Lane Kiffin‘s tricky play calls.
However, the NFL stage is much bigger than what he had at Oxford – And this begs the question: With no option of getting Cam or Shedeur, do you throw your dime on Dart and pray for the best?
