210-lb Michigan Target Makes Major Dan Lanning Admission to Scare Sherrone Moore After Teasing College Football Destination

A red-hot recruiting battle is shaping up between Oregon and Michigan in the offseason rush. Both teams came fresh off an unfulfilled championship dream last year and aim to fill the gap through a sky-high recruiting effort. Dan Lanning has already established his team as a trailblazer in the 2026 class, pushing for the number 1 recruiting status in the cycle. They are high on the mix for QB Jackson Cantwell. And it seems it’s time to get some edge over standout Liberty linebacker, no matter if it’s at the cost of Sherrone Moore’s biggest heartbreak.
What’s the juice out there? The LB in question is Hudson Dunn. The 6-foot-2, 210-pounder, who holds nearly 20 scholarship offers, got offered by the Wolverines back in July and visited Ann Arbor last summer. On the other hand, Peoria (Ariz.) Liberty three-star linebacker Hudson Dunn has visited Oregon twice so far, and he will be back in Eugene in the summer, as he is taking an official visit to the Ducks on June 7. “Oregon is very high on my list right now,” Dunn told On3. “They have a lot of things that I’m looking for, and I have great relationships with the coaches.”
Well, so far, the grass seems to be greener on Michigan’s side unless and until the 2026 top recruit puts Oregon on the same pedestal, setting up an official visit to Eugene. Dunn divulged that Oregon is one of the key choices in his recruitment list alongside the Wolverines. However, Michigan is still in the place to swoop him in over the Ducks, as the 6-foot-1, 210-pound player will be up for a spring visit to Ann Arbor on March 22, as well as an official visit on June 20.

The race for Hudson Dunn, one of the best in Arizona, looks to be shaping up to a battle between two Big Ten powers.

One is Oregon and he has locked in an OV to Eugene.

However, it’s not just between the two Big 10 powerhouses. Dunn is exploring his options outside as well. With offers from 12 schools, including Washington, Oregon, Miami, Penn State, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Missouri, the Liberty product took a visit to Washington and Penn State as well. He had a great rapport with the Husky linebacker coach Robert Bala, and he said there is a decent chance of him landing there.
But Moore doesn’t have to worry. Maybe he has to be on his toes not to make any mistakes in pressing the elite LB on the upcoming visits, but he does not necessarily have to lose hope.

Michigan makes a serious cut in Hudson Dunn’s recruitment list

Dunn heavily inclines to the Wolves. He visited Ann Arbor last summer after he received an offer from Coach Moore back in July. Ever since the Wolves have been leaving no stone unturned in their effort to make him feel special. Head coach Sherrone Moore made a stop at Liberty and spent some time studying and understanding Dunn on and off the field. It left a deep impact on the young LB’s recruitment decision.
“I love how genuine he is,” Dunn told The Wolverine. “He has a great vision for the future of the program at Michigan. I love talking to him. I love everything about him. He sat down with me and my family. I learned a lot more about him and the program. It made me feel like a priority for sure.
The West Bloomfield native is interested in exploring more about the Wolves on his lined-up visits. “I’m looking forward to seeing how the coaches coach,” Dunn said. He has already seen what the facilities have to offer, but he needs to check some intangibles as well before signing the papers. Dun is looking to see how they interact with the players and how the players interact with them. How do they operate at practice?” The method? A conversation with the players and getting their candid inputs. To topple Lanning in this race, Moore needs to ensure everything is in the right place before the Liberty target leaves him in front of tough scrutiny.
