Being Dwyane Wade isn’t easy, right? Dealing with kidney cancer can never be easy, but there are few in the world who conquer everything with their will. Probably our Wade is one. Conquering the court, dealing with cancer, and then handling business. And now again, it is a new opportunity for him. Context? “It has to be the right situation for me,” Dwyane Wade said after his impressive Olympic stint with NBC. He was an analyst for the TNT show as well. However, his journey with Turner Sports was brief. And finally, after years, he appears interested in making a comeback. We all saw the teaser at the Paris Olympics, so now is he ready for a permanent position?
To be honest, it was impossible to not notice Wade making the play-by-play debut at the Olympics. No one can deny that it was a much-needed, refreshing change. He was candid and relatable, and it was recognized by fans as well as those in the business. And now, with NBC returning to the NBA after decades, rumors are flying high. So time to put the rumors to rest? During Wade’s appearance on The Tonight Show, which stars Jimmy Fallon, he was asked whether there was any chance the rumors could be true. And the answer?
In response, D-Wade laughed as he teased the fans and said, “I like this.” He further spoke of his one fear that he wants to alleviate as he said, “I am not going to look like this forever, so I think this face needs to be on TV somewhere.” Again, this is an indirect hint to show his interest. However, we are not sure whether there have been any serious talks between Wade and the company about this. He also praised Noah Eagle, with whom he worked during the Olympics.
Wade had previously left his job at TNT to focus on other ventures. However, in one of his interviews with NBC, Wade showed interest in a permanent role if the perfect opportunity arises. “It has to be the right situation for me. My platform is so different, I speak on so many things, I stand for certain things, I don’t know if everybody stands for what I believe in. If I can find all those things I’m looking for, if I get compensated the way I feel like I should get compensated, then yeah,” he said.

So, it depends on the network (NBC is valued at $167 billion as per Comparably) and whether it can seal a deal with the former NBA player. As of now, Wade is loving his new temporary job on TV. As much as he doesn’t wish to leave.
Dwyane Wade talks about Jenna Bush Hager
The 3x NBA champ joined TODAY with Jenna & Friends, where he will be hosting the show for a week. Wade appeared to have no issues when asked whether he was comfortable with early morning work. “It’s great. I wake up early anyway. I get up about 5:30 every day anyway. I like to have the day to myself before my phone starts ringing, before my family wakes up, so I’m used to it,” Wade said.
From announcing the first Wade Scholar to discussing parenting, Wade is having a great time. He also his co-host and said, “Jenna Bush is amazing. She’s a pro. I’ve been having an amazing time…I don’t want to say this, but I want to say this. I don’t want to go. I really don’t want to go. I’m having a great time with her, and she makes it so easy. So I’d just like to thank the “Today” show for giving me the opportunity to get up there and do my thing,” the Miami Heat legend said.
Getting back to his previous work with NBC, as per USA Today, NBC Olympics executive producer Molly Solomon chose Wade after considering his experience as an analyst on TNT as well as his stints as an Olympian. So far, several notable names have already joined the network, as mentioned before. Wade’s friend Carmelo Anthony, Jamal Crawford, and more will also be joining the NBC family next season. Do you think we will get to see DWade back in action as well?
