Coco Gauff’s mother, Candi, knows how to cheer her daughter up in tough times. Remember the mother-daughter duo spending quality time on Valentine’s Day shortly after Gauff’s early exit from the 2025 Qatar Open? Coco even shared a video of savoring delicious food with her mother, captioning the post, “V-day dinner with my mom @candigauff.” Even Candi shared glimpses of their memorable outing with the caption, “Happy Valentine’s Day from Doha, Qatar.” The mother-daughter duo was then spotted at the 2025 Oscars as well. So, Coco’s family is always there for her, be it thick or thin, and they again ensured that her shocking exit from the 2025 Indian Wells Open didn’t ruin her 21st birthday.
Coco Gauff’s mother is also her constant travel partner. Be it cheering for her daughter from the stands during her matches or joining her in her off-court pursuits, she’s literally everywhere! Speaking about this incredible bond with her mother during a previous interview, Gauff said, “Both my parents are constant support all the time. My mom, it’s just a motherly thing. There’s nothing like a mother-daughter relationship. Especially in swings like Asia where it maybe is more isolated than usual, we just play Uno lot.“
Recalling Coco’s initial days, Candi once revealed, “In the beginning, I would watch her practice, take notes, and just listen to what some of the coaches were saying. Then, I relayed the information to Corey (Coco’s father). But as Coco became a teenager, she didn’t want to listen to my advice as a coach.” So, Candi later transitioned from the role of a coach to that of a mother in order to maximize her daughter’s development. Gauff herself revealed previously how her mother would take care of everything for her on the tours.
“It’s great to have my mom. She’s my biggest fan for sure. Having one or both of my parents, I think always makes the tournament easier. You don’t have to take care of some things. She’s always reminding me, Do you have your headphones, change of shoes, and clothes? Just things that moms, dads, they all do,” said the 21-year-old tennis star.
Coco Gauff turned 21 on March 13, and recently, her “favorite travel buddy” had a fun-filled night with her again on a dinner date. Coco’s siblings were there as well. Candi shared a picture of Coco, Codey, and Cameron sitting together with bright smiles on their faces. She captioned that picture, writing, “@cocogauff @codeygauff @camerongauff .“

Candi Gauff, a former heptathlete, left her career and moved back to Florida for her children’s better upbringing. She has been very much involved in their journey and is often seen sharing posts on their success. Earlier this year, Gauff’s younger brother, Codey Gauff, achieved a great career milestone by committing to the University of Missouri’s NCAA Division 1 baseball team. Codey received a DREAM series invitation, which MLB and USA Baseball had hosted.
After seeing his son climbing up the ladders in his beloved sport, Candi shared an IG story with the caption, “@codeygauff .” Moments like these reflect Coco Gauff and her brother’s special bonding with their super-mom. Recently, even Coco gave a shoutout to her mother on International Women’s Day.
“She’s been rocking with me” – Coco Gauff showers her love and admiration to one of the biggest supporters in her life
In 2019, the 15-year-old tennis prodigy, Coco Gauff, became the youngest player to win a singles match at the Wimbledon Championships since 1991 when she defeated the seven-time Grand Slam champion, Venus Williams, in straight sets. “It was overwhelming, it was stressful, my nerves were at their highest, and I’m just glad she was successful,” a proud Candi said back then. Well, every mother can relate.
Even during her 2023 US Open triumph, Candi was cheering for her from the stands. During this year’s International Women’s Day, Coco again paid tribute to her mother through a heartfelt message. She said, “I’ll give it (a shoutout on International Women’s Day) for sure to my mom. She’s been rocking with me. I don’t know where she went, but she’s been rocking with me the past few weeks.”
It has been a tough few weeks for Gauff, and currently, she has a win-loss record of 11-4 this season. It’ll be interesting to see if she can make a strong comeback at the Miami Open or not.
However, amidst all these, Candi Gauff shared a long note on Coco Gauff’s birthday as well, along with a carousel of images. In her captions, she wrote, “You made me a mom!! One of the biggest blessings and honors a woman can have. Twenty-one years ago, my life changed and Corey and I started our family. From the time you were born, I knew you were destined for greatness! Gifted, talented, and beautiful! A great big sister, a wonderful daughter, and a global change-maker. I love you! Happy birthday!“
Having won a Grand Slam before 20, Coco Gauff is surely “destined for greatness“, but her lack of consistency has been a major worry for her fans in the last few months. Are you backing her to bounce back?
