Battling Logan Paul’s $400K Repercussions, Dillon Danis Spills Contract Nightmare for Boxing Return

Dillon Danis caused a massive stir in 2023 when he publicly shared a controversial image of Logan Paul’s then-girlfriend and now fiancee Nina Agdal. In the lead-up to his boxing match against ‘The Maverick’, Danis launched an unrelenting social media campaign aimed at mentally breaking his opponent. Agdal, a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model who had been linked to high-profile figures, was in a relationship with the Ohio export, but ‘El Jefe’ took things a step further.

Not only did Danis leak a private snap of Agdal discussing her personal life, but he also posted a series of edited explicit images of her. This sparked a major controversy, becoming a focal point of the fight’s buildup and intensifying the rivalry between Dillon Danis and Logan Paul. Their bout, held on October 14 at the AO Arena, was broadcast live on DAZN PPV. Despite the heated animosity leading up to the fight, it ended in chaos, with ‘El Jefe’ being disqualified. The aftermath of the fight didn’t end there. Agdal filed a lawsuit against the New Jersey native, accusing him of revenge p–n which led to a costly legal battle.

‘El Jefe’ later revealed that his lawyer’s fees amounted to $400,000. Additionally, he claimed that Logan had used his influence to block his opportunities in the combat sports world. After months of inactivity, Dillon Danis is now set to make his boxing return on March 29, 2025, in Manchester, where he will face KSI, ‘The Maverick’’s business partner and fellow influencer boxer.

But how did this fight come to fruition? And why did Logan Paul allow it to happen? In a recent interview with Misfits Boxing & DAZN, Dillon Danis revealed that his contract imposed strict restrictions on him. When the host brought up a tweet from February where ‘El Jefe’ had gone notably silent, he explained:

“They’ll probably have to cut this out, but in my contract, they put restrictions on what I can say. It’s not that I can’t talk about this fight, but the things I really want to say. I’m not allowed to. And honestly, I’m not trying to get sued again. So, no. Unless I just say it, which is usually what I do. But I’m sure they’ve put in my contract that I can’t say certain things about KSI. Or… well, you can probably guess what I’m getting at.”

Dillon Danis, who had a respectable grappling career, transitioned to boxing and MMA. However, his 2023 fight against Logan Paul remains his only boxing match to date. Since then, he has struggled to secure another bout. The New Jersey native was originally scheduled to face KSI in January 2023 at Wembley Arena as part of X Series 004. But just a week before the fight, he pulled out, citing being “underprepared.”

Reports indicated that Dillon Danis had no coach and was also struggling to make weight. While ‘El Jefe’ avoided making verbal attacks on KSI, that didn’t stop KSI from firing back. Recently, the rapper and celebrity boxer warned Danis ahead of their upcoming fight, threatening to end his UFC aspirations. Let’s take a closer look.

KSI threatens to kill Dillon Danis’ UFC ‘dreams’ amid feud with Logan Paul

Dillon Danis, like many fighters, has long aspired to make his UFC debut. He even claimed to have received the green light from UFC matchmaker Nick Maynard after an encounter at UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden. This was owing to the crowd’s strong reaction to ‘El Jefe’ which left a lasting impression on Maynard. However, despite the promising moment, Danis later revealed that UFC official Hunter Campbell denied him a debut. The reason cited was his “controversial” persona.

Dillon Danis, in turn, accused Logan Paul of influencing the decision. He suggested that ‘The Maverick’, who maintains a good relationship with UFC brass, was behind the block. As ‘El Jefe’ put it, “He [Logan Paul] hates me now. And he’s in the background with the UFC, I’m pretty sure he’s the one talking to the UFC.” Unable to secure a UFC contract, Danis is now slated to make his debut in the newly formed Global Fight League against Tony Ferguson on May 11.

But before that, he has a boxing match lined up against KSI at the end of March. KSI, who is Logan Paul’s business partner, is determined to prevent Dillon Danis from succeeding. In a recent tweet, KSI threatened to crush Danis’ MMA ambitions, stating, “Don’t think people understand what I’m about to do to Danis. His fight with Ferguson will be dead and his UFC dreams will be dead. His career in combat sports will finally be dead.”

What do you think about Dillon Danis’ claims? Is there any truth to his assertion that Logan Paul and KSI have restricted him? Or do you think ‘El Jefe’ is using their names to fuel controversy and hype ahead of his boxing match and upcoming MMA debut against Tony Ferguson? Share your thoughts below.
