Things nearly got ugly during tonight’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers won comfortably, stretching their win streak to 2 with a dominant 125-109 victory. But all that got overshadowed when Jarred Vanderbilt and the Spurs’ Jeremy Sochan nearly came to blows during the fourth quarter.
It all unfolded when Sochan drove into the paint with the Lakers forward guarding him. But Vando may have gone a little overboard with his physical defense. He dished out two hard shoves and the ref then called a foul in his favor. But Sochan didn’t appreciate this in the slightest. So, the Spurs star retaliated by chucking the ball right at Vando.
And boy did this upset the Lakers star! He proceeded to shove Sochan once more, right in front of the referee, no less! Their teammates stepped in immediately to stop things from escalating. But it wasn’t until the arena’s security stepped in that some semblance of order was restored.
