What Is Ryan Kalkbrenner’s Ethnicity & Religion? Digging Deeper Into Creighton Star’s Nationality and Family Background

“It’s been four years of exciting upsets, brutal buzzer-beaters, and countless Super Smash Bros marathons in hotel rooms with the guys. Some of the best memories are from all the moments in between the games… this literally is my second home.” Creighton’s 7-foot-1 center Ryan Kalkbrenner described his time at the CHI Health Center Omaha after playing his final game as a Bluejay.

It is no news that Kalkbrenner is leaving behind a legacy that few can match. After all, he’s one of the three players in Bluejays history to reach 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. It’s only a matter of time before his #11 jersey is raised to the rafters. Kalkbrenner holds the facility records for career FG percentage (72.5%), offensive rebounds (201), and blocks (175). In addition, he ranks second in terms of field goals made (444), field goal attempts (612), free throws made (199), free throws attempted (285), and rebounds (510).

Did you know Kalkbrenner holds the record for the most games played in the NCAA Tournament for the program? That’s right! 11 NCAA Tournament games — with eight tournament wins, more than any other Bluejay. He’s truly rewritten the Bluejay record book. As Creighton gears up to face Louisville in the first round of the big dance, there’s no better time to explore the family roots that shaped him.

What is Ryan Kalkbrenner’s ethnicity?

Unfortunately, there has been no information regarding Ryan Kalkbrenner’s ethnicity.

What is Ryan Kalkbrenner’s nationality? Where was he born?

The Creighton center was born on January 17, 2002, in St. Louis, Missouri to Kraig and Lynn Kalkbrenner. As per reports, both his parents are American. This automatically makes Ryan American as well.

In Cheers to My Final Season, Kalkbrenner said as he penned down his heartfelt essay, “Growing up in St. Louis, I was always the tall, skinny kid.” Back then, basketball wasn’t even the dream. It was just something his mom, a former St. Louis University player, signed him up for. At Trinity Catholic High School, he was just a lanky teenager trying to find his place.

Then, suddenly, something changed. “The competitive gene was in me,” Ryan recalled. “And in my sophomore year of high school, something clicked.” That was the moment he stopped just playing basketball and started becoming a basketball player!

And he’s proving how serious he is. Kalkbrenner averages 19.4 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Bluejays this season. Now, he’s hoping to lead Creighton on a deep March Madness run to cap off his college career. And he’s off to a strong start! He shot an efficient 6-of-8 from the field as the Bluejays cruised past the Louisville Cardinals, 89-75, in the first round of the Big Dance.

What religion does Ryan Kalkbrenner follow?

Since there is no confirmed media coverage of Ryan Kalkbrenner’s religious affiliation, whether he follows any religion or not is unknown. However, he played high school basketball at Trinity Catholic. His performances earned him the AAA Player of the Year and Class 3 All-State honors. That wasn’t all! He was also named Defensive Player of the Year in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.

Since Trinity Catholic is a faith-based school, it is possible he has a Catholic background. Then again, it is merely a speculation.
