The 28-year-old is rocking the scene with 17 cuts that already include 1 runner-up finish at the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open. He also has 3 other top-10 finishes during this period. Tosti has proven himself to be a promising player and caught the attention of the fans. They would want to know where he is from. So let’s take a look at the background of the 28-year-old rising star, Alejandro Tosti.
Alejandro Tosti’s origin story
Born on May 30, 1996, Alejandro Tosti was introduced to golf at a very young age. He and his brother used to play with a charcoal stick and ping pong ball in order to one-up each other in the game. That playful childhood memory turned into love and passion for golf. Tosti took up the sport as an amateur and found some success in the Open de Argentina in 2012. Two years later, he took on the Eisenhower Trophy where he finished 3 strokes behind the eventual winner, Jon Rahm.
Enrolled at the University of Florida, Alejandro Tosti also played for the Florida Gators. He captured the 2017 individual SEC Conference Championship to get recognized at the collegiate level. One year later, Tosti turned professional and started playing in the PGA Tour Latinoamerica. He soon moved to Gainesville, Florida, and he has lived there since. As a 21-year-old, Tosti had already seen a lot of the world. However, his American education and residence might suggest that he is originally from the USA. But that is not true.
Alejandro Tosi is actually from Argentina. He was born in Rosario and has represented his country in the 2024 Olympic Games. One of his Instagram posts highlights how he proudly represented Argentina in 2024. Tosti’s kit, attire, and accessories were covered in the national colors of blue and white. He is also seen holding the Argentinian flag up his shoulders during his time on the course in Paris.
Tosti still has a long way to go in his career. But his Instagram shows that he already enjoys a great personal life.
The Argentine’s personal life
Most of Alejandro Tosti’s Instagram posts are about his golf adventures. But there are a few shuffled in between that showcase his family and social life. There is one where he is seen posing with his siblings. Although written in Spanish, it roughly translates to Tosti acknowledging that he wouldn’t have come as far without the support of his siblings.
There is also a picture from the Argentine’s graduation day. It shows him wearing the gown of the Florida University, posing in front of the famous Gator statue near the entrance. One of the photos also has Tosti posing with Jon Rahm and Tony Finau. Hopefully, Rahmbo shared a few tips on how to win on the PGA Tour with him.
