Nick Nurse Could Be Next in Line as Michael Malone Becomes 2nd Coach to Be Fired in Eleven Days

In a surprising turn of events, the Denver Nuggets have parted ways with their long-time head coach, Michael Malone. With just two days remaining before the regular season ends, this news couldn’t have come at a worse time. Moreover, this makes Malone the second head coach to be fired within a short span of just 11 days. This season has been full of shocking moves, and just when we thought we had seen it all, everyone is stunned once again. While Malone’s firing is surprising, to say the least. Another head coach could soon be joining the Nuggets boss and former Grizzlies head coach, Taylor Jenkins, on the free-agent market.

It has been a terrible season for the Philadelphia 76ers. With still three games to go, the Sixers have now lost 12 in a row and have a terrible 23-56 record to show. However, it wasn’t supposed to be this way. This was the season where they were to get over the hump and get past the second round of playoffs for the first time since 2001. But everything fell apart, with the team struggling with injuries even before the season started. Joel Embiid and Paul George were the first pillars to fall. Then Tyrese Maxey missed some time, and others soon followed. The hits kept coming, leading to this disaster of a season.

However, things could get much worse before they get better for the Sixers. Recently, there was visible confusion between the front office and head coach Nick Nurse. ESPN’s Sham Charania reported that their young guard Tyrese Maxey has been shut down for the rest of the season. But when the question was asked to the 76ers head coach, he said Maxey is just out for the Bucks game. While it’s normal for miscommunication to occur between the front office and the coaching staff, this might ring a few bells in Philly’s case. While nothing is official just yet, if you were to ask former NBA player Chandler Parsons, Nurse’s time in Philadelphia might be over.

My buddy says he saw Taylor Jenkins yesterday in Philly looking for houses,” Said Parsons on Run It Back TV. “The level of communication is concerning. You’re just gonna put your head coach, that’s the head of this whole situation…and you can’t even give him the correct info and just kind of throw him out there, this isn’t it.” According to the former Mavericks forward, 76ers President Daryl Morey and Nick Nurse might not be on the same page. That’s because this level of miscommunication is concerning. Moreover, adding that up with the rumors of newly fired Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins looking for houses in Philly, things don’t look too amusing for Nurse.
