He was talking about the “Masters Week,” as the biggest tournament in golf will tee off in only a few hours from now. The most prolific golfers from around the world will battle it out at Augusta National this week. Each and every one of them will have only one goal in mind; winning the prestigious Green Jacket!
From Rory McIlroy to Phil Mickelson, Scottie Scheffler to Jon Rahm, and Xander Schauffele to Bryson DeChambeau, the Masters Tournament is expected to be an absolute showdown of incredible strokeplay. The only question is, when will all these mega stars tee off? All your questions will be answered here as we are going to provide you with the complete guide to the tee times of the first and second rounds of the first major of the year.
The 2025 Masters Tournament tee times & groups
The 2025 Masters Tournament is scheduled to tee off on April 10, 2025. The tournament will stretch across four rounds, with the tournament ending on April 13. Interestingly, both the first two rounds at Augusta National are scheduled to begin at the same time on the coming Thursday and Friday.
Round one and two of the 2025 Masters Tournament will begin at 7:40 A.M. (EST). However, the first round will begin with Honorary Starters, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tom Watson teeing off from the first hole. They will drive off the first hole at 7:25 A.M. (EST). The 95-player field will be split into groups of three with only Group 1 consisting of two players; Davis Riley and Patton Kizzire. According to the Masters Tournament website, they will be the ones who officially kick off the tournament after the Honorary Starters.
The second round will see an old switcharoo with Riley and Kizzire being moved to Group 17. On Friday, the trio of Cameron Davis, Rafael Campos, and Austin Eckroat will start the proceedings at 7:40 A.M. (EST). Every group will tee off with a gap of 11 minutes between them. After every six or seven groups, there will be a short 17-minute break before the next group drives off. The last group in both rounds will tee off at 1:45 P.M. (EST).

With the tee times confirmed, many would be eager to learn when their favorites will start both rounds. So let’s take a look at some of the featured groups on the field and their specific tee times.
Who are Rory McIlroy & Scottie Scheffler paired with?
Augusta National has chosen to go with some interesting groups to ensure the entire round is entertaining. What’s even more interesting is that they have split up Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler’s groups into two extreme ends of the rounds to ensure fans get to see both of them in action without compromising on one to watch the other.
Scottie Scheffler is in one of the groups that tee off early in the first round of the 2025 Masters Tournament. He is paired with Justin Thomas and amateur golfer, Jose Luis Ballester, in Group 14. On the first day of the Green Jacket event, Scheffler & Co. tee off at 10:15 A.M. (EST). Looking to finally become a grand slam champion, Rory McIlroy is a part of Group 29 alongside Ludvig Aberg and Akshay Bhatia. They tee off at 1:12 P.M. (EST). In round two, Scheffler will play with the same squad in Group 30 teeing off at 1:23 P.M (EST). McIlroy will move to Group 13 with the same bunch starting the day at 9:58 A.M (EST).
Another interesting group in round 1 will be no. 6; featuring Bernhard Langer and Will Zalatoris. Langer is playing the last Masters Tournament of his career and the community, including McIlroy are excited to watch the legend play at Augusta National one last time. Group 12 will feature Collin Morikawa, Joaquín Niemann, and Min Woo Lee. Mickelson will feature in Group 13, Jordan Spieth and Tyrrell Hatton will be a part of Group 15, and former champion, Dustin Johnson, will be in Group 24.
Other interesting groups in Round 1 will be Sergio Garcia‘s Group 25, Brooks Koepka‘s Group 27, and Schauffele and Viktor Hovland‘s Group 28. The last few groups on the first day will have Bryson DeChambeau in Group 30 and Jon Rahm in Group 31.
