Jerry Jones Makes Bold Super Bowl Pitch to Lure 50-TD Freak Offensive Star as Dak Prescott Breaks Silence on Big Cowboys Extension Buzz

Here’s the thing—last season felt like the Cowboys were all set to throw a house party but forgot to lock the back door. They stormed through the regular season, but by the time the regular season wrapped up, they limped to a 7-10 finish, Dak Prescott was sidelined with a busted hamstring, and CeeDee Lamb’s shoulder gave out before the final whistle.

To make it even worse, Philly swept them for the first time since 2011. Jerry Jones? He wasn’t thrilled. Now, with a new head coach and a fresh draft board, it seems like he’s ready to shake things up and aim for a comeback. The Cowboys did a fine job in the off-season till now. They re-signed Osa Odighizuwa on a four-year $80 million deal and even brought Joe Milton III to add depth to their QB room.

Now, all eyes are on the NFL draft, scheduled for later this month. And looks like Jerry Jones is already looking to bolster their O-line by adding a star running back from Boise State—Ashton Jeanty. Yeah, you read that right. Jeanty recently had a chat with the Cowboys’ owner, where Jerry Jones talked about the Super Bowl with him. The 21-year-old RB talked about his recent conversation with Kay Adams on Up & Adams Show.

When Adams asked if he had met with Jerry, the RB straight up revealed his conversation with the Cowboys’ owner. “I did meet Jerry Jones,” he said. “It went well. I mean, we was, you know, we was just chopping it up, talking, talking footballs, talking about Super Bowls.” Jeanty and the Cowboys? Well, that sounds like a match made in heaven.

Jeanty attended Lone Star High School in Frisco, and no doubt the guy’s looking to wear a star on his helmet. A star of the America’s team. The Cowboys have the 12th overall pick, and Jeanty has been vocal about playing for the Cowboys in 2025. “I think it would be dope, a lot of great people there, a lot of talented players,” Jeanty said about what it would mean to be a Cowboy. “Potentially to be a part of that, I think that would be a great opportunity.”

Jeanty’s football journey has been nothing but impressive. The guy learned the game’s tactics at a field on a military base in Italy. Thanks to that, the young RB finished his final season at Boise State as a runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. And why not? Jeanty wrapped up his collegiate career after recording 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024 (50 TDs in his collegiate career).

But his desire to play for the Cowboys is totally understandable. I mean, the guy was a standout player at Frisco Lone Star High School, which, if we’re not wrong, is just a 15-minute drive from the Cowboys’ headquarters. “It would be special, growing up in Frisco, spending a lot of time out there, I think it would be cool to have the star on my helmet again,” Jeanty said.

“Playing for Lone Star, I had a star on my helmet as well, so it would be a dope moment if that were to happen.”All in all, the Cowboys are expected to draft Jeanty with their 12th overall pick. And his recent conversation with Jerry Jones is like an open invitation. Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ owner still has to extend Micah Parsons‘ contract.

Micah Parsons needs to be patient, just like Dak Prescott did

“We don’t need to get this done before the season.” That was Jerry Jones playing the long game with Dak Prescott’s extension—again. Despite Dak entering the final year of his deal in 2024, Jerry shrugged off the urgency to enhance Dak’s contract. What did the QB do? He played it smart. He remained patient, he kept working, and eventually the Cowboys awarded him a four-year $240 million contract, making him the NFL’s highest-paid player.

Now here we are, and it’s déjà vu all over again—but this time, it’s Micah Parsons in the spotlight. He’s heading into the final year of his rookie deal, and yeah, the man’s earned himself a big payday. That’s where Dak Prescott steps in with some solid big-brother advice. He’s been through the same contract drama himself, so of course he tells Micah to chill and just ride it out.

“I don’t have the full answer for it, or I think all of mine would’ve been done a lot earlier than they were,” he said, via the team’s website. “For him, just stay positive. Understand and make sure that his team knows what he wants and what he believes.” Well, Jerry dragging a contract extension is nothing new in the NFL. However, the Cowboys’ boss has confirmed during the annual league meeting that the team wants to enhance Parsons’ contract.

“In every aspect of Micah, he’s got great potential to do more,” Jones said recently. “Every aspect, whether it be in my mind physically or from the standpoint of physically, he has a lot of potential and he is so capable mentally that he could make us all follow him a little bit… But I will tell you that those are the kinds of things that I want to personally have total and complete satisfaction that I’ve got a commitment from him, and that I can see that it’s not just contract talk.” Ever since Parsons entered the NFL, he’s been a cornerstone of the Cowboys’ defense.

The guy made four straight Pro Bowls, three All-Pro teams, and won Rookie of the Year honors in just four seasons of his career. Will the Cowboys extend his contract before the start of the next season? Guess we need to wait for a few more days before finding that out.
