They dropped a 198.0125 and walked out with their seventh national crown like it was business as usual. Everything looked wrapped up nice and tidy… until…
Mizzou threw a wrench in the script! At first, it looked like heartbreak city for the Tigers. They were hanging in fourth, and Amy Wier, who’d been clutch all season, had her beam score bumped down to a 9.850. For a second, it felt like Mizzou’s best shot at a historic finish had slipped through the cracks. But then came the twist. After a video review, Wier’s 9.850 held, and the Tigers leapfrogged Utah by the tiniest margin to steal third. Just like that, Missouri didn’t just make the podium—they made history. Best finish ever. First top-three finish for any Mizzou women’s team. And it all turned on one routine.
