Heartbroken After Mourning Brother’s Death, Marvin Vettori Puts Dana White & UFC on Alert With Major Move

2025 hasn’t really been gentle to Marvin Vettori. ‘The Italian Dream’ lost his bout against Roman Dolidze via a unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 104. And just a month later, he lost his younger brother, Patrick Vettori, in a heartbreaking accident. But mourning couldn’t stop the #10 middleweight contender from making big moves and putting Dana White on high alert.

Before we shine some light on Vettori’s pictorial message that alerted the UFC head honcho, let’s see what went wrong with his 30-year-old brother. On April 15, ‘The Italian Dream’ took to Instagram and shared the heartbreaking news with the world. Less than a week before his death, Vettori’s brother had announced his desire to run for the local municipal election in Mezzocorona. But a fire at an apartment in Trento, Italy, forced him to breathe in heavy doses of carbon monoxide and smoke. And when the firefighters arrived at the scene and subdued the flames, they found the 30-year-old aspirant’s lifeless body. Needless to say, the news took a huge toll on the middleweight star, whose grief was unfathomable.

But life has to go on, and Vettori was pretty quick to understand that. On 21 April 2025, he went back to his gym and resumed his training session. He shared the post-workout scene on his Instagram Story. The picture was taken from Vettori’s perspective, as he sat down by the walls, legs straightened, and training gloves and a towel lying in front of him. Of course, it might be his way of coping with the loss. After all, the adrenaline boost during workouts often combats the gloom in many. But it also might be an aim at the UFC CEO, pointing that he’s now ready to take on Brendan Allen and put their rivalry to rest in the Octagon.

It’s highly likely that Vettori might battle Allen in his next bout. The duo was slated to fight earlier in 2024, but unfortunately, the Italian star got injured in a “freak accident.” It was indeed the first time Vettori pulled out of any fight. But now, as he got back into the gym, White might just think of putting the two against each other once again. And this time, Vettori will have to do his best. Why? Because he believes that his brother is watching over him.

Needless to say, losing a sibling is indeed one of the worst kinds of pain that life can give. And that’s what reflected in Vettori’s words as he paid tribute to his brother.

Following the incident, ‘The Italian Dream’ took to Instagram and shared a carousel of pictures of himself with his brother. The pictures narrated stories of their childhood, all the way to their adult selves. In the caption, the heartbroken middleweight fighter penned a message to his brother expressing his love. He wrote, “You left a void that cannot be filled, I will love you until my last breath. I don’t think I’ll be the same after today because I never told you but you’ve always been my strength. You were the smartest and smartest of the 2, you were creating a wonderful future for yourself and I can’t get over it.”

Vettori continued and claimed that the Almighty often recalls “the most beautiful souls” prematurely to heaven. He hoped that his brother would always watched over him with the goodness that always set him apart. In the end, he wrote, “I love you my brother, and even though it won’t be easy to continue life without you, one day I’ll be buried next to you.”

But before that, Vettori has a duty to fulfill. He has to take on Brendan Allen and rise above his current 2-fight losing streak. While confidence and resolve breaches his sorrow, we can expect to witness a battle worth remembering in Vettori’s next fight. But we still have to wait for White’s supreme intervention to make the fight happen.
