“Pissed Himself”: Golf Fans Rub Salt in Bryson DeChambeau’s Wounds Days After Augusta National Heartbreak

“It was a battle all week, and even without my best stuff, I proved to myself that I have the ability to win this tournament one day. It’s tough, but moments like this have taught me a lot, and now I’m more motivated than ever to get back to work,” Bryson DeChambeau wrote on X after his near miss at The Masters Tournament this year. What could’ve been the first victory of the season turned into a disappointing final round of 75, which dashed his hopes. After nine appearances at Augusta, one might expect the LIV Golf star to feel heartbroken over yet another missed opportunity. However, just 10 days after the Masters loss, DeChambeau has sought entertainment elsewhere, though his latest antics haven’t resonated well with fans. So, what exactly happened?

In the latest Crushers GC video, Bryson DeChambeau plays golf from the rooftop. The LIV golfer places his ball on a cushion and hits it into his backyard, and the shot looks promising. DeChambeau’s ball bounces five times, nearly resulting in a hole-in-one. Amazed by the shot, he can’t help but mutter, “This is sick!” The official Crushers GC account shared the clip with the caption, “Bryson almost holed out from the top of his roof .” However, this isn’t the first time DeChambeau has done something like this.

Last November, he took on a challenge to hit a ball blind over his roof and into the cup on the green in his backyard. He started with one shot on the first day, then increased to two shots the next day, continuing this pattern until his 14th shot on the 16th day. In his 134th attempt, he finally made the hole-in-one and celebrated by running onto the green, picking up the ball, and kissing it while shouting, “Let’s go, baby!” But it seems DeChambeau is the only one enjoying this experience.

Bryson DeChambeau’s solid shot didn’t seem to impress the fans in the Crushers GC comment section, as many took the opportunity to poke fun at his painful loss during The Masters Tournament.

Bryson DeChambeau’s skills did not impress the fans

The first fan not only criticized Bryson DeChambeau’s technique but also pointed out his lack of major wins outside of his two U.S. Open victories (2020, 2024). The fan said, “Maybe he should be practicing proper golf (fixing that hook) rather than entertaining on X if he wants more majors.” According to the fan, DeChambeau needs to refine his grip and swing path to address his persistent hook, ensuring the clubface remains more open throughout the swing. By focusing on these technical adjustments, DeChambeau can significantly reduce the tendency to hook the ball, enhancing his performance in major tournaments.

Two fans reminded the 31-year-old of his performance at Augusta National just 10 days ago, with one saying, “Too bad he shot 74 and pissed himself at Augusta,” while the other added, “And still got spanked at the Masters. He is content creation golf … period.” Let’s have a look at the golfer’s Masters performance, shall we? He played well during the first three rounds. However, due to four bogeys and one double bogey, he finished his fourth round with a score of 75. The result? He finished T5, slightly better than his last year’s finish (T6).

When it comes to content creation, however, DeChambeau takes pride in it. Speaking ahead of The Masters, he said, “I want to be known for entertaining and inspiring and hopefully growing the game in some capacity. That’s all I focus on now.” The result? His YouTube channel is just shy of 2 million subscribers. Close to three years after launching his YouTube channel and posting over 200 videos, he had gained nearly 300 million views. Will there be an improvement in his game as well? We will see!

And it is not like the golfer himself has not reflected on this content creation journey, and if it may, in some capacity, pose a threat to his performance on the greens. Addressing the same, he said, “There are times I’ve gotten a little overzealous and been like, ‘Wow, I need to focus on my game a little bit. But sometimes the content I create actually helps me focus for the next week.”

But coming back to what the fans have to say—one fan poked fun at Bryson DeChambeau’s outfit, quipping, “Does he really dress like this every day?” DeChambeau was rocking a bold look with his Reebok gear, even in the casual setting. However, his choice comes from his long-term partnership with Reebok, announced earlier this year. In fact, the news suggests that exclusive Reebok x Bryson DeChambeau co-branded apparel will likely be available in future seasons. So, we can expect to see plenty of Bryson DeChambeau donning Reebok apparel.

Lastly, a fan remarked, “Bouncing the ball on concrete 5 times is not skill .” Ouch! This comment doesn’t need an explanation; however, had DeChambeau made that hole-in-one, he certainly would have received nods of approval! What do you think?
