USWNT Legend Ali Krieger Joins Candace Parker, Kevin Durant and Others in $100 Million League Investment

The launch of League One Volleyball (LOVB) in the United States was met with quite excitement. For a sport that hadn’t previously enjoyed nationwide recognition, the news was certainly a reason for fans to celebrate. Adding to the buzz was the involvement of big-name athletes like Candace Parker and Kevin Durant, whose support for the $100 million league investment helped dispel any lingering skepticism. Now, it looks like the latest star to join the growing volleyball fandom is none other than USWNT icon Ali Krieger.

Yes, you heard it right. The former NJ/NY Gotham FC forward has also been spellbound by the definite development of LOVB, forcing her to make her association more active by becoming a small yet significant investor. The announcement was made hours ago, with the league’s official Instagram page also sharing the latest news.

Expressing how “thrilled” they are to have Krieger on board, LOVB emphasized that the former USA defender “knows how important it is to provide better opportunities and outcomes for women in sport. We’re proud to have Ali on board to help make volleyball the next major league with LOVB.”

Even the 2x World Cup winner had some words to share on becoming a part of the American volleyball league. “Investing in LOVB was an easy decision for me because it represents everything I believe in empowering women, growing the game and building something truly groundbreaking,” said Krieger.

“The energy around women’s volleyball is electric-and I’m proud to be part of a movement that’s changing the game and creating more opportunities for the next generation right here in the U.S.”
