Deion Sanders was highly regarded as a potential Dallas Cowboys’ head coach until Jerry Jones moved on with Brian Schottenheimer. Rumors ran rampant that Coach Prime would leave Boulder alongside his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, and retreat to NF, most specifically his old home, Cowboys. However, the Colorado phenom several times dismissed his interest in coaching for the Cowboys in the past, but given that he is no longer an active participant in the league’s top-tier coaching race, it could be possible that he has changed his mind to some extent.
Deion Sanders has been the roughest and toughest coach you might have ever seen in your life. However, he gives off a different rowdy vibe than Nick Saban. The Alabama legend is more about hard work, discipline, stoic attitude, and maintaining a quintessential poker face during the work. But, Deion Sanders, on the flip, is like that backbencher kid who finds one way or the other to leg-pull the teachers but somehow manages to score decent in exams. When, for the third or fourth time or maybe more, he was asked about his take on Jerry Jones’ Cowboys’ decision, Sanders couldn’t find a better way to throw some pointed sarcasm to put it up out there.
Rich Eisen asked how their friendly conversations went a couple of weeks back, and Deion promptly answered, ”It was great, man. It made me think, first of all, Jerry is one of those types of guys that he’s like myself. That you got to have an opinion, you got to make a statement, you got to respond because he provoked so much thought.” Well, do you wonder what does those thoughts exactly look like? Be ready for a gales of laughter. Sanders continued, ”When he calls and we have our little conversation, you hang up, and you start thinking. You just weigh everything, and then go out there. I would probably get a helicopter to fly into work every day. I can stay in my own house and get a helicopter to fly every day and land right down the field, right beside Jerry, and this could work.”
A part of Sanders’ reason to withstand the offers from the big league is he doesn’t think he is a great fit. As Eisen reminded him of how aggressively he was screaming ‘cut him’ on the screen while watching a match, Sanders agreed and said, that’s why I don’t think I could ever actually coach (in NFL).
