Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves was supposed to be the Lakers’ bounce-back moment. Instead, it turned into another night of frustration. It seems that the Lakers just can’t seem to catch a break. And this time, even the biggest names aren’t holding back. After a crushing loss that saw their control slip right through their fingers, LeBron James, JJ Redick, and Luka Doncic wasted no time calling out the officiating.
After a brutal 116-113 loss that felt like it slipped away in slow motion, Luka didn’t mince words when asked about the controversial trip: “I think I got tripped for sure,” he said, practically scoffing at the question. JJ Redick backed him up, doubling down that the missed foul cost the Lakers dearly: “Luka got tripped. I mean that was a blatant trip. He doesn’t fall on his own, we watched it, he get’s tripped. So we should have been at the free-throw line.”
Meanwhile, LeBron broke down the final inbound mess and threw some low-key shade at the refs over the Anthony Edwards foul call. “They say the hand is part of the ball,” he said, clearly biting his tongue.
The Lakers have been hanging by a thread this postseason. And after the chaos of Game 4, it’s clear they’re officially fed up. If the refs don’t tighten up, this series could slip even further out of reach.
(This is a developing story….)
