Love and passion can only take you so far. If you truly want to be the best in business, you have to take risks every once in a while. And the NHL is all about high-risk, high-reward. With that in mind, it’s probably not surprising that Alex Ovechkin rules the sport and has established himself as one of the GOATs of the game.
Ask any of Ovechkin’s teammates, and most of them would agree, he is a “monster on a forecheck“. While the Russian is the all-time greatest goalscorer in the NHL, his defensive skills have also been crucial to the team’s incredible success. But, sometimes, even Alex can get a little carried away and put himself in danger while trying to ensure his squad has firm control of things.
The Washington Capitals have taken to the ice at the Centre Bell for Game 4 against the Canadiens. And surely enough, Alex Ovechkin is eager to make sure that the Montreal team doesn’t level the scores tonight by any means. However, his determination almost got him into soup. In a post by Sportsnet on X from April 27, Alex’s dangerous play was shared.
Captioned, “Ovi comin’ in hot,” the post shows Ovie trying to get the puck from Montreal’s Alexander Carrier by slamming into the latter against the wall. However, Alex miscalculates things by a little and misses the Canadiens’ star, only to go over the fences and into the Montreal bench.
