Mike Tyson Caught in Crossfire as Jake Paul Backpedals on $10M Deal for 47-Year-Old Boxing Legend

YouTube boxer Jake Paul is set to return to the ring against former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28, 2025, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. However, his last bout against former heavyweight king Mike Tyson continues to spark conversation—and not all of it flattering. This time, it’s a former world champion taking shots, with Tyson catching some strays in the process.

British boxing legend Carl Froch, who retired in 2014 after knocking out George Groves, has since transitioned into being a pundit, often with Jake Paul as one of his favorite targets. In the past, Froch, nicknamed “The Cobra,” has even said he would come out of retirement specifically to fight Paul, pledging to donate his entire purse to charity.

Earlier this year, Paul’s business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, responded to Froch’s challenge by demanding the Brit put up $10 million (£7.7 million) to make the fight happen. However, earlier this month, during the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano trilogy press conference, Paul appeared to walk back the idea. When a reporter asked him about the potential Froch matchup, Paul simply said, “Next question,” dodging the topic altogether.

Fast forward to today, Paul listed his top three boxing matches on X, naming “Taylor Serrano 2, Eubank Jr vs. Benn, and Fury Wilder 3.” That post didn’t go unnoticed by Froch, who seized the opportunity to take a jab at Paul and indirectly at Tyson. “My favourite fight was you beating Mike Tyson, one of the most feared heavyweights of all time. You must be so proud. Go Champ! ,” Froch wrote sarcastically.

My favorite is seeing you beg for Jake’s attention and engagement. Hilarious.

Bidarian quickly came to Paul’s defense, firing back at Froch: “My favorite is seeing you beg for Jake’s attention and engagement. Hilarious.”
