It’s been a decade since Dwyane Wade and his wife exchanged vows and have been going strong. The A-list couple has faced many tribulations in the process, but still make sure to stand beside each other like a rock. However, recent claims about the Heat icon on his activity might spell some trouble for his me time.
D-Wade is big on me time, and that too with his closest friends who often go for the retreat. But this time, the activity that the 3x NBA champion spoke about was golf. In his recent episode of the podcast ‘Timeout’, close friend Chris Johnson called out Dwyane Wade’s habit. “You’re unavailable, sorry, I’m golfing.” The basketball coach mimicked Wade’s words as an excuse that he must have heard in the past. The Marquette alum also did not try to refute the claims.
“Yeah, I’m unavailable…put that phone down.” Dwyane Wade continued, “When you playing at those slow golf courses, you have no other choice but to pick your phone up. You’re right was just golfing the other day, and was nobody in front of us like that really phone barely got picked up at all.” It’s not just the Flash who will be engrossed in the course. Even a close friend of the Heat icon, Dorell Wright, said the same. He felt his game was “trash” since he answered all calls or text.
Another potential distaste loading for Gabrielle Union, so who already is not a being a fan of one activity of Dwyane Wade. “I don’t love hot yoga. I’ve actually done it I-don’t-know-how-many times. Every time, I say, Ok, this is my last time. I don’t think I’m built for it.” The Bring It On actress once said that her husband and crew would often for hot yoga, but she prefers something totally opposite.
“My husband swears by it though. He has a whole crew. They go daily. I’ll be at pilates in the air conditioning.” Despite their different tastes in activities, their decade-old relationship is strong. They have developed some non-negotiables along the way.

Even in the world of OTT platforms, the couple prefers TV time. “We have started to develop the skills and the communication to make us last. But we also don’t play around with our TV time,” she admitted. Turns out, their shared love for Lottery Dream Home on HGTV is more than just casual entertainment.

Even the host, Sherri Shepherd, noticed the dynamic of Dwyane Wade and his wife and very much appreciated it. “You really are intentional. About your togetherness,” she said. Gabrielle Union’s response? “Very intentional… I really enjoy him.” But it hasn’t all been easy. Even D-Wade credited his wife after the troubled time of the family during his cancer treatment.
