Indiana Fever May Have Left 12 Other WNBA Franchies Slaty After Their Bold Call-Out, Per National Analyst

Indiana Fever fans rejoice! You are just three days away from seeing the team back on the court. Their first 2025 WNBA preseason game tips off on May 3 against the Washington Mystics. It’s been a long wait since September 2024. And with Caitlin Clark set to return to action, this one feels extra special. The regular season might still be a few weeks out. But Indiana’s marketing team? Already locked in. Their new campaign is grabbing attention–and fans are loving it. We might mean just the Fever Nation.

Indiana has a bold new campaign for the upcoming season– Now You Know. It’s a statement reflecting their rise since drafting Clark first overall in 2024. Just a year ago, they were at the bottom, missing the playoffs seven straight seasons. But after drafting the Iowa sensation? A 20-20 record and a number 6 seed. First playoffs since 2016! A total turnaround. They made sure they weren’t losing the momentum in the off-season either. Experience, a young core, and defensive lapses– they ensured to close all the gaps.

So the franchise didn’t hesitate when they went on to say, “Some say we arrived because the world knows our name. But now you know– recognition alone was never the destination.” They filled up the stadium, earned 41 national TV games this season, and became the leading franchise in attendance in the league. But as the message makes clear, they aren’t just riding on the wave of fame. Analyst Rachel DeMita is all here for it.

“I saw this thread on Twitter. I was shocked by it. I was pleasently shocked and surprised. I thought it was so cool and savage,” she begins on her podcast. Well, that may just be the Indiana Fever fans thinking. Or those on the neutral ground. Because the Fever are making noise, and the opening line of the campaign was just the beginning.

Yes, they are preparing for a spectacle on court, but the franchise isn’t letting go of the bragging rights they received with all the fan response. Home games or away, you couldn’t tell the difference with all that support. So if you thought the Fever were stopping at coming back stronger as a team, they weren’t. They were throwing in a little jab.“Our road games sound like home games. Our fanbase doesn’t ask for permission to show up and dominate,” the campaign continued. Now this is where DeMita believes a few nerves were touched.

“Like, they know that they have that fan base. But with that, there are other teams that do have solid fan bases, and things like this–if you’re an Indiana Fever fan, you get super excited about something like this. If you’re not an Indiana Fever fan, if you’re, say, a New York Liberty fan or a Las Vegas Aces fan–this riles you up even more,” the podcaster added.

The message is clear. The Fever are here to rewrite the story. They’re not hiding from the spotlight. In fact, they’re owning it! With 41 national TV games and sold-out arenas everywhere they go –it further proves that the fans are turning up in big numbers both home and away! It’s also a tribute. A nod to Indiana’s deep love for basketball. This state lives and breathes the game. And now, the Fever want to carve their name into that legacy. This campaign? It’s hitting all the right notes! Fans love it. Analysts love it. And the buzz is only getting louder.

That might not all be wrong. The Aces have managed to build one of the most rabid fan bases, add A’ja Wilson and two back-toback title winning campagin to the reason. Then, we know New York and its dedication for the sports team. But the Liberty securing the city’s first basketball title half a century last year, has only upped their game.

However, the Fever aren’t overstepping their claims either. There’s a reason they say every away game feels like a home game. Since Caitlin Clark entered the WNBA, fans have been showing up like never before. The Fever saw a jaw-dropping 265% boost in home attendance. And on the road? Clark’s impact is even more unreal. She’s caused a massive 87% spike in attendance compared to her opponents’ usual home crowds, according to SportsCasting.

In fact, she’s responsible for 33.5% of the league’s entire attendance in 2024. When she plays, games average 15,591 fans. That’s a 105% increase. When she doesn’t? That number drops to 7,645. And get this! The Fever average 36% more fans on the road (15,142) than any other team.

So yeah, rival fans and the other 140+ players in the league have every right to be a little salty about this campaign. But let’s be honest–the Fever media team? They crushed it. They’ve earned themselves a serious raise with this one! But are the Fever ready to break more records this season? Do they have the team capable enough to make a run for the title?

Caitlin Clark and co are ready to break more records

The last time the Fever were on top? 2012. Led by the legendary Tamika Catchings. It’s been a long wait since then. But this year feels different. The front office went to work fixing last season’s weak spots. Experience? They’ve got it. A strong frontcourt to back up the electric Caitlin Clark–Kelsey Mitchell combo? Yup.

Do they have the depth this time? So, Clark doesn’t have to log 40 minutes a night like last season? They do! They made some big moves this season! They brought in DeWanna Bonner, Sydney Colson, Sophie Cunningham, and Natasha Howard. But it’s Bonner and Howard who really stand out. Both are battle-tested. Both are champions. And their experience might just be what Indiana needs to chase that title. New head coach Stephanie White, who knows a thing or two about winning a championship with the Fever, couldn’t be happier with the moves the front office made this offseason.

Now, it’s all about the Fever putting in the work during training and stepping up when it matters most. Caitlin Clark definitely has the squad to help her achieve greatness this season. It’s going to be exciting to see how they handle business. Stay tuned for more updates!
