Doubtful to Fight in UFC, Conor McGregor Drops 11-Word Insight After Disturbing KO Goes Viral

Business ventures, a fight promoter gig, and the decision for a presidential run, Conor McGregor‘s priorities seem to weigh more than his fighting career. The former double champion, who claimed in 2023 that he had two fights left on his UFC contract, and even called out Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel for being kept away from his “livelihood,” recently dropped the hint that he may not be considering an Octagon comeback anymore.

“I’m happy with what I’ve done (in the UFC). There’s something else for me that’s in my gut right now. That’s kind of where I’m going,” Conor McGregor stated at the BKFC 70 post-fight press conference over a month ago. However, it doesn’t seem like he’s telling the entire truth. After all, ‘The Notorious’ did appear to be looking for the right time to take a return when he added, “We’ll see. Greatness doesn’t rush.”

Clearly, the Irishman still seems to have a passion for fighting. In fact, he’s constantly sharing posts related to fighting through his social media handles, and even shares clips of him training his son. As such, there was no way that McGregor would have missed one of the most viral video clips going around on social media. The video showed what looked like a sparring session, and the viral moment arrived when one of the fighters’ misjudgments led to him getting brutally head-kicked.

McGregor, being the former double champion and experienced fighter that he is, shared a few words of advice for all young fighters aspiring to be world-class one day. “Do not rush your shots. Keep your structure and your patience,” Conor McGregor wrote in his Instagram stories.

Well, we can always depend on ‘Coach McDaddy’, who also doesn’t hesitate to trash other fighters whose suggestions aren’t to his liking. You don’t agree? Ask Henry Cejudo, who got a taste of that after his UFC 288 loss in 2023. That’s just classic Conor McGregor! Meanwhile, we all know that his comeback seems a far-fetched idea at this point after multiple disappointing experiences. But did you know that he’s keeping those hopes alive after he made another callout last month?

Conor McGregor raises hopes of his return with another Michael Chandler callout

Michael Chandler, ever since he debuted in the UFC, was thrown into the main event picture right away. It wasn’t until UFC 314 that he fought someone outside of the top 10, and it didn’t turn out well for him. Paddy Pimblett silenced his doubters and critics with an emphatic triumph over a seasoned veteran, shutting him down in the third round and leaving Chandler bloodied.

Waiting on the sidelines for two years, hoping that Conor McGregor comes back, and losing a couple of important years of his athletic career didn’t work out for Michael Chandler. At 38 years old, and with a 2-5 record in the promotion, the chances of him ever getting back into the title conversation are as slim as they can be because there are quite a few who deserve to fight for the title.

When it seemed like there was nothing for Michael Chandler at the moment, McGregor shared another message calling out the former 3-time Bellator champion once again. “IRON MIKE CHANDLER. Unfinished business,” the former double champion tweeted. And guess what? Unlike some of his other tweets, this still remains on his X profile. Is McGregor finally coming back?

Well, that’s a question that only Conor McGregor can answer, but until then, we’ll have to make do with his takes and opinions regarding fighting on social media. Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
