On the field, Cam Jordan has never asked for much except for the opposing quarterback’s time. Since 2011, he’s chased down signal-callers with a precision and relentlessness that’s made him the Saints’ all-time sacks leader and the rare defensive player who never needed a scheme built around him to dominate. He’s missed just two games in 13 seasons, logged over 200 starts, and did it all while anchoring a defense that rarely got the spotlight but always had his fingerprints on it. In a league that ages edge rushers quickly, Jordan became the exception: productive, present, and proudly New Orleans.
The Saints made it official Tuesday: Jordan will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor on Dec. 8 during their home game against Atlanta. He’ll become just the sixth member enshrined, joining Drew Brees, Sean Payton, Tom Benson, Rickey Jackson, and Willie Roaf. The timing is fitting. Jordan, who’s still under contract through 2025, has made a career out of disrupting Falcons quarterbacks. Now, the franchise is carving out a permanent space for him, above the field he never left, alongside the names that shaped the Saints’ identity.
Congratulations to @CamJordan94 for Thursday, May 8, being declared “Cam Jordan Day” by the New Orleans City Council for Cam’s devotion to the city and serving the community!
