But with Belal Muhammad as the champion, it seems unlikely, but certain speculations cite that Jack Della Maddalena‘s win could see the Australian fight Makhachev with his welterweight title on the line. And that speculation seems to be spot on because Dana White has confirmed that Muhammad retaining the title could see the Dagestan native get paired up with Ilia Topuria with his title on the line. “There’s a lot of moving parts there right now, and yeah, that’s pretty accurate,” the UFC CEO stated during the UFC 315 presser.
