“Everybody knew it was the end, but it’s also the end for now.” This is how renowned TV director Declan Lowney described the ending of the popular American comedy-drama television series Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis. Having begun in August 2020 with ten episodes on AppleTV+, the show is about a beloved American football coach-turned-soccer manager who takes charge of a fictional Premier League side called AFC Richmond with heart and humor.
It gained further traction only to launch its second season next year in July, followed by a third installment in March 2023 with 12 episodes — which apparently was touted as the finale. Even if fans hoped for a fourth season with a potential spin-off, it was eventually deemed as a temporary end. “It’s going to be two or three years before anything happens — if anything happens,” further added Lowney about the show.
Fast forward to today, boy was the director right as Ted Lasso is officially making his way for the fourth season. It came following a recent announcement from Apple, stating the work is in progress over the launch of the next chapter of its sought-after soccer-based original series. This only brings up the question of when exactly the new TV series will be launched. But before we address that, we have rather something to show you.
Ted Lasso arrives in Kansas City as NWSL’s Current gets surprise backing
Yes, you heard it right. Jason Sudeikis, or as we say, Ted Lasso, was spotted in Kansas City earlier this weekend supporting rather a surprising team, none other than KC Current. The American actor came to support the National Women’s Soccer League side for their Matchday 8 clash against Bay FC.
Glimpses were shared on X, with Sudeikis posing with the team’s star players as well as a caption saying, “We believe in believe,” a hilarious yet famous dialogue from the show.
