Monday night in New York had a lot more star power than your average start of the week. And bathed in that glow was our dynamic sportscaster. Charissa Thompson, with a noticeable star glam of her own, made up a superstar lineup that included the legendary Kelce brothers.
We are, of course, talking about the Amazon Upfront presentation at the Beacon Theatre on Monday, 12th May. Amazon has been at the forefront of entertainment for quite some time now, and through this event, they walked up through how. As Tanner Elton, VP of U.S. Ad Sales put it, “We’re connecting with these customers sun-up to sundown, through the content they obsess over, and the services that make their lives easier, and the products they need and want – With Amazon you get it all—you buy into one powerful, interconnected community fueled with trillions of insights.” And it was here that Charissa Thompson, along with the rest of her Amazon star cast, made an exciting announcement.
Charissa Thompson took to her IG to share the superstar lineup photo she was a proud part of. The lineup? Along with Charissa, the photo featured journalist Taylor Rooks, Kaylee Hartung, former NBA star Blake Griffin, and WNBA phenomenon Candece Parker. From our NFL world, the lineup included NFL legend Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth, Jason Kelce, and of course, Chiefs TE Travis Kelce.
Charissa shared this story with the words, “Love my @amazon family ” Ever since her career took her to TNF with Amazon, Charissa has been a very proud member. She even covered the recent Blue Origin space mission with a little help from Jeff Bezos. At the event, Charissa dropped the news about this year’s Black Friday NFL matchup. Chicago Bears vs. Philadelphia Eagles, big stuff, right? But that’s not all. Along with the NFL matchup, Prime Video will also feature an NBA match.
As Charissa Thompson put it, it will be the “Greatest Friday in Sports”. And we have seen that Amazon is clearly doubling down on sports broadcasting. As per the Amazon website, the fun doesn’t end here. “27 days later, the merriment culminates with a prime-time Christmas night gathering of the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs that may determine the fate of the AFC West Crown” Mark the calendar and times folks, there’s exciting times right ahead.
At the event, Jason and Travis Kelce also spoke about their podcast New Heights and Travis’ game show, Are You Smarter than a Celebrity? As the gang got together, a picture was surely in order. And it is this picture that’s making the rounds on the internet and getting the community even more hyped up.
Charissa Thompson’s Amazon fam gets unanimous support
The photo that Charissa shared in her story is actually a post made by Ryan Fitzpatrick. In the post, Ryan wrote, “When you are the ninth coolest person in a photo and still feel cool…love my Amazon family ”
Imagine. Ryan Fitzpatrick, playing 17 seasons as an NFL QB. Calling himself the “ninth coolest person”. Well, Ryan, being the superstar he is, lost that debate. As the fans showered their love, support, and clarifications for the whole gang. As one person noted, “That’s a great group right derrr!” another summed up the lineup with a simple, “Rocking with the best”. But this was only the beginning.
A fan pitched herself to Charissa, wanting to be part of the fam. “@charissajthompson the luckiest lady! 2 kelces a Fitz n whit, lovely friends and a farm life (adopt me as a sister please 🩷)”. Candace Parker got her own shoutout with “Candace Parker seems like the coolest person on the planet”.
But the highlight? The apparent “ninth coolest person” who stole the spotlight – Fitzpatrick. As one person wrote, “You’re the GOAT in that photo.. let’s be honest”, another shouted their love for Fitzpatrick and the Bills, with whom he played from 2009 through 2012. “You are way higher than 9th in that family!!! Go Bills ”. Fitzpatrick’s support doesn’t end here, as one person writes, “Fitzmagic is the aura”.
The greatest shoutout for Fitzpatrick, however, was when a person remembered his iconic Braille Mary passes that won him multiple games in his career. “Nobody is cooler than Fitzpatrick, the braille Mary is the greatest pass of the 21st century”. And it wasn’t just him. The community lined up to celebrate the whole Amazon fam as they wrote, “Now THAT’S a party!” and “Super pumped for you Fitz and the Amazon fam!!!”
