With their backs against the wall, the Nuggets did what they set out to during last night’s Thunder clash. Desperate to keep their season alive, they came out with a sense of urgency and took an early lead to open the game. Even when the visitors bounced back, Nikola Jokic and Co. did not lose focus and eventually won the game. But the Joker knows that the job is far from over as they still need to win Game 7 on Sunday. And he has already begun planning the changes Nuggets will make for the crucial encounter.
Well, these two teams have faced each other ten times this year, including playoffs and regular season. However, there is not much separating the two as both have won five games each. So, Jokic believes Sunday’s game will come down to the little details, “Probably defense. I think probably defense. Details. Rebounding for us especially because how much they are attacking the glass. Turnovers for us. Depends on how the game opens up.” Yes, the three-time MVP expects his squad to be tighter on defense and better at protecting the ball because these small things can add up to have massive impact.
He continued, “They want to push the pace, they want to drive and find open looks. We kind of want to maybe little bit slower game. Get open looks differently. So, I think it’s interesting to watch. I think the details, defense, box out, turnovers, that’s gonna probably decide the winner.”
