Erin Andrews’ Gig Outside of FOX Takes Unexpected Turn Amid Contract Uncertainty

For over a decade, NFL Sundays came with a familiar rhythm: the roar of the stadium, the voice in the booth, and somewhere near the edge of the field, Erin Andrews with clipboard in hand, locked in, delivering updates with the confidence of someone who had long since earned her place there. That image, once constant, is suddenly in question. Andrews’ contract with Fox Sports has expired. While the network has yet to confirm whether she’ll return to the NFL sidelines this fall, the ambiguity has stirred more than the usual off-season speculation. It’s raised a larger, more interesting question: What does a legacy sideline reporter do when the sidelines start to shift?

Andrews is no longer just a broadcaster. She’s a business owner, a podcast host, and a brand unto herself. She co-hosts the popular Calm Down podcast with Charissa Thompson, runs a successful clothing line, and has emerged as something of a mentor figure to the next generation of women in sports media. Her platform doesn’t depend on Fox anymore. Which begs the question: does she?

The answer is a simple no. The NFL sideline reporter just gave fans a peek into her life off the field. And it involves luxury wheels and a whole lot of excitement. Andrews recently took to Instagram to share that she’s back on set with Infiniti, shooting a new commercial for their sleek QX60 SUV. And judging by her enthusiasm, this gig might just be one of her favorite detours yet.

But it’s not just luxury cars and commercials. Erin’s been popping up in places fans didn’t quite expect, and they’re loving every second of it. The NFL sideline reporter has been embracing all the other opportunities coming her way, impressing fans once again with different sides of her personality, the fun, down-to-earth Erin fans love. Just recently, Andrews popped up on the Jenna and Friends show, a lively segment from the Today Show family. Posting about the experience on Instagram, she gushed, “This week was better than I could’ve imagined! Thank you, thank you, thank you @jennabhager @jennaandfriends @todayshow for the opportunity to come and play! What a time! And thank you to my girls.” Well, looks like Erin’s journey is taking some exciting, unexpected turns.

Guest co-hosting alongside Jenna Bush Hager, Erin got to share the stage with none other than Queen Latifah. The legendary performer stopped by to talk about everything from her upcoming biopic and her Coachella performance with Megan Thee Stallion to her mission of raising awareness about the link between obesity and heart disease.

Erin was part of the Today Show for a week. She spent time with the crew chatting about sports and entertainment news. Andrews’ week-long gig wrapped up on Friday, and it ended on a surprisingly emotional note for the 47-year-old sportscaster. After a week of laughs, heartfelt moments, and some seriously good television, the Jenna and Friends team sent her off with a sweet note. Posting pictures from her vibrant week on set, the Jenna & Friends Instagram handle shared a farewell post for the NFL reporter. The caption read, “Thanks for spending the week with us @erinandrews! We had a blast

Safe to say, the Jenna and Friends viewers loved Erin Andrews. Fans couldn’t get enough of the NFL reporter. From her stunning outfits throughout the week to her smooth hosting skills, the Today show audience was seriously impressed. So, as Erin’s fans loved her presence on screen, they are also impatiently waiting to hear about her plans with Fox. With uncertainty hanging over her re-signing with the channel, Andrews’ future with Fox has become a hot topic of conversation.

Uncertainty surrounds Erin Andrews’ future at Fox Sports

Tom Brady is in. Erin Andrews might be out.

Fox Sports has already begun reshaping its top NFL broadcast team for 2025, with Brady set to take over as lead analyst alongside Kevin Burkhardt. But one familiar voice has yet to be re-signed: Erin. And while Fox featured her in its new NFL promo and slotted her into Indy 500 coverage next weekend, there’s still no official word on whether she’ll return to the sidelines this fall.

It’s not just a personnel question. It’s a broadcast identity question. With networks investing heavily in ex-quarterbacks and high-profile commentary talent, the role of the sideline reporter, a job often dismissed as ‘secondary’, is being redefined, or in some cases, quietly de-emphasized.

Starting her career as a freelance reporter, Erin stepped into the broadcasting world, first serving as a hockey reporter. In her initial days of her career, she was the Tampa Bay Lightning’s reporter. Andrews landed at ESPN in 2004, reporting for ESPN National Hockey Night. Eventually, she shifted to covering football for the channel. For 8 years, Erin worked for ESPN before joining forces with their rivals, Fox.

On her arrival at Fox, Erin joined analysts Eddie George and Joey Harrington to host Fox College Football. In 2014, after two years with Fox, Andrews stepped onto the NFL gridiron, serving as Fox’s sideline reporter for its NFL coverage. Ever since, she became a fan favorite. And now, that same Fox has been quiet about her re-signing.

Andrews’ uncertain future isn’t just about her. It’s about whether this role, which she helped elevate into something with real gravitas, is being quietly downgraded.
