Kim Kardashian’s IG followers would have been taken aback after seeing that one of her stories had the famous model expressing an interest in meeting the Slovenian. Really, the post had her stating “Does anyone know when he will be playing? I want to meet him!”. This certainly made Kardashian quite relatable, as who wouldn’t want to meet the Jordan Brand athlete who assisted in taking the Dallas Mavericks all the way to the NBA Finals last season? However, a recent post got people to question whether Luka was quick to turn down the 44-year-old as quick as he is with his shots.
A few hours after Kim Kardashian put the Instagram story, a viral post started making the rounds of X. It claimed that the model had commented on the Lakers post that highlighted Luka Doncic’s arrival to the Lakers. She wrote “I want to learn how to speak Slovenian”, accompanied by a ‘Sexy Lips’ emoji.
Luka Doncic did not waste any time, and replied with “No, please don’t”. Ouch! Furthermore, the fact that Luka’s comment got more likes than Kardashian’s would have only increased the hurt level.
Fortunately, fans of the model, and the now Lakers player, have nothing to be worried about. The post was uploaded by ‘NBACentel’, a parody account of ‘NBACentral’. The handle is known for posting notorious fake stories that may not be factual but sure put a smile on viewers’ faces.
From poking fun at Draymond Green’s interest in LeBron James’ drink to claiming that Patrick Mahomes performed poorly at the Superbowl because he was still upset over Luka’s trade, the handle has ways of portraying jokes as actual news. In fact, several of its followers have claimed to be “Centel’d”, aka have been fooled to believe the news of the parody account, at least once! Therefore, if anyone fell for this news about Luka Doncic and Kim Kardashian, then Congratulations! You have been Centel’d!
The fact that Luka Doncic did not comment in that manner would be disappointing to a few fans. After all, if the post about Kim Kardashian’s actual comment was an indication, then social media users certainly wanted to see the Slovenian turn down the model.

Soon enough, the comments section was filled with remarks that called against the meeting. Not because the Slovenian would be bad for the Kardashian, but vice versa! This was seen by one social media user writing “Kardashian effect”.
The comment was a reference to an online theory that anyone who gets into a relationship with a Kardashian, and then breaks up, goes on to deal with some unfortunate luck. The theory even took great strides in its background development, as it claimed that the curse was put by four witches, who allegedly struck a deal to ensure that every woman in the Kardashian bloodline would be stunning and famous, but the cost would be for the men who came into their lives to suffer.
Media personality Scott Disick himself promoted this theory after he dated Kourtney Kardashian from 2006 until 2015. Kanye West, who famously was married to Kim herself, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder during their marriage. Due to this, why would anyone want to throw Luka Doncic to suffer from the effects of the alleged ‘curse’?
One social media user took a shot at Kim Kardashian by writing “Man is literally engaged. Put some respect on his relationship.” The relationship between Luka Doncic and his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, is as old as the player’s basketball career. According to People, the duo first met in Croatia at a young age, and have been together since 2016. Similarly to Kim, Anamaria Goltes also found success in modeling.
She was once an ambassador for Lisca Lingerie and had also signed with Immortal Models Management to do several campaigns for Zlatarna Celje, including appearing on the cover of Cosmopolitan Slovenia. She accompanied Luka after he shifted to Dallas. Though the couple may not be married yet, they do share a 1-year-old daughter named Gabriella.
Therefore, amidst being surrounded by so much happiness, Luka Doncic would be the last person to be distracted by someone like Kim Kardashian.

The Mavericks GM’s decision to trade Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis was not well received by many. From players stating their disbelief after the news first broke to Mavs fans protesting with a mock-up ‘funeral’, criticism was everywhere. The Lakers player’s heart stopped twice, and he also spent four days in a coma. Therefore, when the individual asked for another Laker to not “fall in the trenches”, this is what he meant.
Another individual stood behind the NBA player by writing “Luka don’t do it man don’t fall for the curse”. Well, until Luka himself comments, we won’t know whether he will choose to or not.
Overall, the majority of reactions saw people being united in keeping Luka Doncic away from Kim Kardashian. The games at Crypto.com arena were already set to be interesting with the Slovenian on the offense. Now, if Kim turns up for one of the games, who knows what will happen?
