Back in 2021, when Nick Sirianni took the reins as head coach of the Eagles, skepticism was rampant. His initial press conference was, to put it mildly, awkward, and many questioned if he was the right fit. Fast forward to now, and Sirianni has silenced critics by leading the Eagles to a 48–20 record over four seasons, boasting a .706 winning percentage—the highest among active NFL coaches.
Last season? It was something to remember for Sirianni. No, we aren’t just talking about the Super Bowl… which, of course, is worth remembering. But considering the Eagles had a disappointing end to the 2023 season, that remarkable turnaround just makes sense. Sirianni led Philly to a 14-3 record, marking his fourth consecutive playoff appearance in his four-year tenure.
To make it spicier, the guy avenged the Super Bowl LVII loss as well. No wonder the HC cemented his place in the Eagles’ history. The result? Well, Philly rewarded him for his service ahead of the final season of his deal and offered him a multi-year contract extension. And now, the HC addressed his deal and thanked the QB, Jalen Hurts, and all the players/coaches who were part of his journey.
“It felt like my response was, again, I got a chance to thank Mr. (Jeffery) Lurie and my opening when I set up right away,” Sirianni said. “I’m not in this situation without great players. I’m not in a situation where I’m able to sign a new contract without great coaches. And I’m not in this situation to be here without Howie (Roseman).” That’s a humble response.

“So it truly is, you can’t be great without the greatness of others. And whether it was Jalen (Hurts) coming up to me and saying the same thing. He was tall again, Jalen Dallas, Clint Hurtt, Vic, and Howie. And so again, it just shows you how awesome a team sport like football is.” The franchise hasn’t revealed the contract terms, though.
However, given how his 2024 season turned out, it’s safe to assume that Sirianni’s new contract will be one of the most lucrative deals. The guy was reportedly making around $7 million per season after entering Philly. Now, as per his multi-year deal, it’s pretty much certain that he’s going to stack up more than that. Plain and simple. Currently, Andy Reid is the highest-paid head coach in the league, reportedly making $20M per season.
Behind him, Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin, and Jim Harbaugh are sitting with $16M per season. Count Nick Sirianni among ’em as well, give or take. And right after that went down, the head coach received a message from his QB. “First and foremost, congratulations to him,” Hurts said.“Everything he’s achieved and accomplished, he’s earned. To see his evolution and growth playing QB for him, it’s been a great experience, a great ride. And hopefully we’re just getting started.” We can definitely sense the coach-QB chemistry there.
Moreover, they’ve just started? Yeah, it’s been the whole vibe in the front office as well as in the locker room after they’ve won the Super Bowl.
Nick Sirianni receives a championship message from the Eagles’ owner
“We are the two leaders of the team. I’m happy and fortunate that we were able to come together in harmony and have the same goal in mind, and try to get this thing right. I got a ton of confidence in him.” Jalen Hurts had full confidence in his head coach back in October 2024. And why not? The Eagles were entering the 2024 season after a disappointing end to the previous season.
At one point, the Eagles were at the top with 10-1. Then came the five losses in the next six games, and even before they could think of securing a Super Bowl berth, they were out of the season. Sure, the HC led his team to the playoffs, but that didn’t stop the speculations around his job security in 2024. But fast forward to February this year, and Nick Sirianni led his team to their second Super Bowl. The result?
Well, the team’s owner, Jeffrey Lurie, is out there praising the HC. “As an organization, we have always strived to create a championship culture of sustained success,” Lurie said. “Nothing is more important to fostering such an environment than having tremendous leadership.” Then came the interesting part when the owner confirmed that Sirianni is their guy if they’re looking to stack up championships.
“Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach… His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team.” Long story short: Nick Sirianni has achieved almost everything in his first four seasons as the Eagles’ head coach to earn a well-deserving contract extension. With that, he also secured his future in Philly.
