Nikola Jokić had an amazing season individually this year. He became the first-ever center to average a triple-double, and who can forget that 30-20-20 game he had in March? All in all, it’s safe to say that he could have easily won the MVP award over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. And one of the Joker’s former coaches seems to agree despite his previous comments on the MVP race.
Who’s this former coach? Well, it’s the man the Denver Nuggets abruptly fired near the end of the regular season — Michael Malone. And as he worked as an analyst ahead of tonight’s Western Conference Finals Game 2, Malone felt he had to clarify something very important. And that’s who he voted for to become the MVP; rather, who he would’ve voted for.
“I did vote for Nikola Jokić this year, if I had a vote. I want to make sure the people of Denver know that. Because I’m getting a lot of heat back home,” said the former head coach for the Denver Nuggets.
