What happens when two of the biggest personalities in the MMA world link up? Yeah, the internet pretty much loses its mind. That’s exactly what went down a few days ago in Thailand when UFC heavyweight champ Jon Jones bumped into none other than social media icon Hasbulla Magomedov. The two ended up sharing a hilarious moment that made the rounds online like wildfire.
‘Bones’, seemingly unaware that Hasbulla is a 22-year-old man, picked him up like a child and cradled him, a moment that instantly reminded fans of the time boxing legend Mike Tyson made the same mistake. Now, another video has started making the rounds, showing the Russian sensation trying to get a little playful payback on Jon Jones for treating him like a kid.
Abraham Kawa, the co-founder of Mike Perry and Jones’ promotion, Dirty Boxing, shared the hilarious video on Instagram, showing Hasbulla nearly choking out Jones with a rear-naked choke. He even tried to recreate the infamous Tyson moment from the podcast episode, playfully going for Jones’s ear as if to bite it off. It was all in good fun, and the heavyweight kingpin enjoyed the joke, dropping a string of laughing emojis in the comments.
Jones might be one of the meanest and most dangerous fighters of all time, but he’s also got a humorous side that knows how to have a good laugh. The UFC heavyweight champion even seemed to enjoy their first meeting, especially the moment he shared a piece of bread with Hasbulla.
And credit where it’s due—the young man consistently delivers some of the most entertaining moments in the fight world. Whether it’s his clips with Khabib and Islam, or that hilarious moment when he smashed Alexander Volkanovski with a burger, Hasbulla’s videos never fail to entertain.
The Russian sensation might look like a cute little guy you’d want to joke around with but don’t let that fool you. Hasbulla knows the kind of influence he holds, because of his appearance and his antics. He once got into a heated rivalry with Abdu Rozik, who also shares the same form of dwarfism and a similar level of internet fame. So it’s no surprise that Hasbulla didn’t think twice before calling out a former UFC champion.
Hasbulla calls out Ilia Topuria for a lightweight fight
Hasbulla Magomedov hails from Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, and spends a lot of time around the Dagestani fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, training alongside them as a friend. So, when Ilia Topuria launched his verbal attack on the soon-to-be former lightweight champ on X, the viral personality didn’t hesitate to call out ‘El Matador’ himself.
He uploaded a photo with a UFC belt on X and wrote: “Hey @Topuriailia if you really want that belt, then I’m ready. @danawhite send the contract, I will bring the LW belt back to Dagestan.” You’ve got to give Hasbulla credit, not only did he call out Topuria, but he also boldly looped Dana White into the mix. After securing a promotional deal with the UFC president back in 2022 for a 5-year deal, it’s clear Hasbulla isn’t shying away from a challenge.
That’s a worthy replacement for Ilia Topuria vs. Charles Oliveira at International Fight Week. We didn’t get the super fight against Makhachev, so that would’ve been the second-best spectacle for the audience. But, sarcasm aside, it obviously wouldn’t be a good idea. Still, it’s safe to say that Ilia probably would take a few punches from him, just for laughs.
