“I think my first impression was – This is gonna be a fun year.” When Paul George joined the Sixers last summer, he expected his first year in Philly to be smooth sailing. But the reality could not have been farther from it. Of course, the constant injury concerns have forced PG to miss a ton of games. And even when he is healthy, his numbers have declined significantly from last year, averaging only 16.6 points. Unfortunately, the star forward hit another low during tonight’s Nets clash, leading to the enraged fans resurfacing an embarrassing stat about him.
With Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid sidelined due to injury, the expectations were for George to put up an elite performance. But he crumbled under pressure and finished with only 2 points on an abysmal one of seven shooting.
As expected, it brought a ton of criticism his way, with one netizen even pointing out that PG has more podcast clips uploaded on YouTube than made field goals this season. “Bro still has more uploaded podcast clips than Sixers buckets btw” the fan wrote. Yes, the forward has made only 207 field goals wearing the Sixers uniform as compared to 228 podcast clips on his channel.
