Do you remember the tag Paul Finebaum gave the Florida Gators head coach, Billy Napier? An “abject disaster.” Well, the analyst had his reasons to call him so. Back at that time, Napier’s boys fell prey to back-to-back two-home losses. Plus, the head coach’s Gators’ tenure has been marked by mostly losses. Under Napier, Florida missed a bowl game in 2023, which was the first time the program missed a bowl since 2017.
However, Napier is now busy whitewashing his image. And what better way to do that than coming off as a threat on the recruiting trail? When it comes to the 2025 class, they have made it to the Top 10 as per On3. However, they are yet to catch up when it’s about the 2026 class, standing at No.13. And guess what? Napier has already started to collect the blocks for his 2027 roster and has landed their first commitment.
On June 21, Hayes Fawcett confirmed, “BREAKING: Four-Star ATH Tramond Collins (2027) has Committed to Florida, he tells me for @on3recruits.” More than the excitement of landing their first commitment, with Tramond Collins, Napier is happier to have closed the doors for his SEC rivals.
As per the reports, the 6’2 185 ATH from Cottondale, FL chose the Gators over Tennessee, Auburn, & Kentucky. All of them had their eyes on Collins, after all, he’s ranked as the No.4 ATH in the 2027 class.
(This is a developing story…)
