Juan Soto Drops 5-Word Message to Mets Clubhouse After Snapping Skid with 2-HR Masterclass

After a rough stretch that saw them drop seven straight games, the Mets are finally showing signs of life, and so is Juan Soto. In a thrilling showdown against the Phillies, Soto crushed two home runs that not only powered the Mets to a much-needed win but also served as a loud reminder of his star power. It was a performance that reignited the spark in a clubhouse desperate for momentum.

After the first game against the Phillies which they lost by 2-10, the Mets went down in the NL East rankings. However, with a thumping 11-4 win in the second game, they are back to the pole. And if Soto’s confident postgame remarks are anything to go by, Mets fans might just have a reason to believe that the road to October is back on track.

What happened in the past is already in the past. We just come out to play good baseball and forget about what just happened,” Soto said during a post-game interview with Ken Rosenthal.

It’s those 5 words at the end “Forget about what just happened,” that tell you a lot about his mindset. Soto seems to have put his early-season struggles behind him and is now fully dialed in. And you know when Soto is on, it just feels different.

The game against the Phillies saw Soto launch two straight homers in the third inning to give the Mets a 4-3 lead. That was his third multi-homer game this season and the 26th of his career. Pretty remarkable considering he’s only 26.

As per MLB insider Sarah Langs, Soto currently ties with Jimmie Foxx for the most multi-homer games before turning 27. He wrapped up the second game against Phillies going 4-for-5, pushing his average to .256 and lifting his OPS to a strong .877.

Soto is now sitting at 16 home runs and 41 RBIs on the year. All signs say he is back, and the slump is clearly in the rearview. So, Mets’ fans, forget his rough start this year. You have now got the player you asked for.

The 84 mph curveball from Joe Ross was sent to the second deck, with the projection being 437 feet. That was a statement of Soto’s arrival and considering the intense situation in the NL East, there couldn’t have been a better time for him to announce his arrival.

The Soto-powered Mets are back in business

After dropping seven straight games earlier this season, it looked like the Mets were spiraling into another year where expectations might outpace execution. But just when it seemed the wheels were coming off, Soto stepped up and flipped the script.

But more than Soto, it’s about the Mets’ pitching lineup as well. With a league-best team ERA of 3.15, the Mets currently rank 1st in all of MLB. You can imagine how dominant and consistent their arms have been.

Compare that to last season’s struggles, where the Mets’ team ERA hovered in the middle of the pack, often exposed by an inconsistent bullpen and an injury-plagued rotation. In 2024, the Mets finished with a 4.18 ERA, good enough for 16th in the league. Fast forward to 2025, and it’s a completely different story.

Of course, the offense still has star power. Soto’s resurgence, Lindor’s consistency, and Alonso’s power stroke mean the lineup is always a threat. But ironically, it’s not the bats who are making the most noise, it’s rather the arms.

The Mets may be flashy on paper because of their hitters, but in the standings, it’s the pitching staff that’s making the real statement. And, if this balance holds, they may turn out to be one of the most complete teams heading into the second half of the season. October dream is on, folks.
