If you want to listen to one person talk about championship and pedigree, then listen to Dwyane Wade. Just in his third season and at the age of 24, he led his team to the championship. Later, he added two more rings, thanks to the Big 3 formation along with Chris Bosh and LeBron James. The team would appear in four finals and win two NBA finals. So when the recent discussion about this year’s team to the final, The Flash quickly stated his favorite: Celtics.
“Yeah, that’s why Boston is the leader in the bullpen because their continuity is they have lost nothing. They swagger they have lost nothing and they also you a never seen a championship team come back with a chip on their shoulder. They actually came back with a little chip.” On his podcast, the Heat legend picked the Celtics as his favorite to win. “They do, and it’s because Jayson Tatum got a chip on his shoulder.”
The chip on the shoulder of 6x All-Star is because of multiple reasons. First, last year it was Jaylen Brown who swept the Finals MVP trophy and performed better than Tatum. Then, during the 2024 Olympics, he was not a starter or a player who played regular minutes off the bench. That’s why Dwyane Wade believes the Celtics’ forward’s performance will drive the team through. D-Wade is not wrong with that assessment.
This is Tatum’s second highest points scoring season. Currently, after 52 games it is 27 points, only behind 30 points per game during the 22-23 season. After hyping up the Beantown team, Dwyane Wade pointed out his former team that might have reduced the gap. “And so I mean to me Boston is obviously still high number one for me when it comes to that. But when I look at what Cleveland has done, you know they have edged a little closer right, but now it’s still Boston for me right now.”

Looking back at the Olympics 2024, ‘The Avengers’ assembled and broke the box office record. The team led by LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant, it was always a difficult task to find meaningful minutes for the rest of the roster. Not being a starter for the team could be the imaginable outcome, but getting zero minutes in certain games was never acceptable.
This was the case with Jayson Tatum, who came into Paris, after winning his first championship. But Steve Kerr had other ideas, and Dwyane Wade tried to make sense of the situation. “It’s not about you being a great player or not, obviously each player on this team is a great player in their own right, but it’s about making sure that you bring something to the team that the other guys can depend on, that can rely on.”
