Six years ago, Coco Gauff stunned everyone by defeating the five-time champion, Venus Williams, in the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. That’s how she announced her name to the tennis world, and after that, in 2023, she finally tasted a Grand Slam success at the US Open. Following that, two years later the 21-year-old has now also secured her second major tournament. Can she get the third at Wimbledon? “I think I can give myself the best shot [of winning Wimbledon] by trying to keep the moment [winning the French Open] as minimised as possible.” However, unfortunately for the American, she was stunned by a qualifier in her first match since the French Open triumph. Amid all these, Gauff recently shared a shocking confession just days ahead of Wimbledon. What did she say, though?
Shorty after her defeat to Xinyu Wang in the R16 of the Grass Court Championships in Berlin, she shared a heartfelt note saying, “It was a tough one today but happy to be back on court. Tried my best to adjust with the quick turnaround, but it wasn’t enough. As always, I’m learning as I go so I hope to do better next time.” Now days after that admission, she has now come up with a very interesting revelation.
She revealed the moment when she had last cried. In one of her tweets, she wrote, “girl the last time I cried that hard was when iron man died in endgame. i love me some olandria! but it looks like they will be coming back so this episode was more like my infinity war #loveislandsusa #marvel.” Then in another she claimed, “this episode had me boo hoo crying, thank you for including that ending because I really was about to go off #LoveIslandUSA.”
